We had our first ultrasound today! It was so cool to see the little heartbeat and to hear it. I'm so excited to be a dad. Has anyone had the 4d ultra sound done?

I wanted to do it.. but it cost a lot of money. I did see someone elses... very cool!!!!!

It's like a Photo of the baby.

"Someone is getting the New BABY smell"

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

*****Sprinkles Girl dust over Jhall's thread****

I watched two girls go through the teenage years and I have one girl going through it now. In 13 years... another teenage girl will emerge.... so don't get mad at me when I say... Just wish the baby is born health and happy what ever it is...

They did the 4 D for me at 31wk, and that is when thewy said IT IS A BOY, till that point the dr said it was a girl! SO it was a HUGE SURPRISE for us. BUT as Sinbad said HEALTHY baby is the BEST!!! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

We had a 3D done at it was cool. Looks like a blob of clay moving around. W e looked closely and notice she had an "I hate Bush" tattoo on her left arm. And she wasn't even born yet!

We did the 3d/4d ultrasound. I highly recommend it. The place we went gave us a CD with a movie of the ultrasound as well as the best pictures that were taken. On the old forum I had a picture of the scan as my avatar. It was a picture of the baby crying and was so clear. Congrats on the new baby! My hubby and I are expecting our second and can't wait to do this again.

We had the 3d and 4d done with both kids. It is so amazing to see the images. We went to Gedded Keepsakes on Guadalupe and Dobson. They have different packages you can choose from. They also let you invite family so we had grandparents with us when we found out the sex of both kids.

Not to be a party-pooper but I have heard that it is recommended to stay away from ultrasounds that are not medically required.

Check out these links and decide for yourself. The first talks mostly about the risks the second is more geared towards the types and the schedule of ultrasounds during pregnancy. This one says that the risks are can not be confirmed or denied. It is pretty interesting!!

It is such a great idea...to see your baby in such clarity before birth. My sister had hers done though and he was so smushed in there he looked deformed and despite her doctor's assurances that he was fine, she was a wreck! My doctor included the 3d ultrasound in the normal ultrasound schedule.

I am so sorry....the first thing I should have said to you jhall is CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think a part of me gets a little jealous of people having their first baby. There really is nothing like it in the world...no words to describe it...no feeling to define it. It is honestly miraculous! Your enthusiasm reminds me of my husband's excitement over our first born! Makes me want to get prego again! LOL

I'm not too worried about it. There are still people who think microwave ovens will kill you and cell phones cause tumors... I just don't think I have the patients to wait to see my new kid. You should have another baby....look at me trend setter, hahaha

That feeling you get the first time you lay eyes on him/her is better than anything. Even better than how you made the baby!

haha so true! It really is the greatest thing! I only have one but she is the coolest funniest little kid I have ever met =) Nothing better than seeing yourself in them.

We got the ultrasound too. My doc included it in the reg. vbisit. It's all on how they write it up for billing.
