Take I-10 (75-80 mph BTW) all the way to the Casa Blanca Exit. Drive approximately 9 miles West towards hwy 347. Turn left on Murphy Rd. Drive south about 4 miles and PRESTO you are at Murphy and Honeycutt right by VW Test track. It took 40 minutes off of my usual 1.5 to 2 hr drive home from Central and McDowell. I have been taking this route for about a month and I didn't want to post it because only me and my brother have used it, but since there is so much traffic that can be routed this way, (if you live out that way)it would help with 347. The reason I know of these back roads is I grew up in maricopa. I used to Live at FICO FARMS which is now Pacana Park. My dad worked there for 17 yrs farming the Pecan orchards. We gre up on Porter Road and Applegate. (applegate no longer exsists) Hope this helps.

has Murphy been paved or smoothed out?? I took that way ONE time and I thought my car fell apart. Murphy is way too rocky and bumpy to be considered a shortcut for me, you have to drive 10 mph on that beauty.

The county grades it once a month, you must have been through there after a rain storm. Usually its pretty soft. And why would they impound your car? It's a public road... Unless you drive 80 by the school zone and when they pull you over you have 5 illegals in the trunk.

From what I've been told dirt roads are not open to the public, only paved ones (and that can change at any time too). If you are caught on a road that they arbitrarily don't have open to the public, they can impound your car.

I had spoken with the guys at u of a and they said the rez was mad about people driving on their back roads because they had knocked the irrigation pipe out of the farmers hands only a couple more feet and the guy would have been dead I used to take all the back roads including the canal bank which puts you out on az ave and casa blanca but i don't want to loose my car for trespassing

Never happened. I tried getting the order, but the AG told me he couldn't issue a Restraining Order just because somebody is genetically challenged.

Do you know of anyone who has had their car taken from reservation police? I don't see how they could just take your car. Sovereign Nation yes, but there are still laws.
