Alert | I already posted this in the education forum, but I want to get the word out best as I can.
If your child attends Santa Rosa Preschool and rides a van, they are likely being transported illegally. State law dictates all children under the age of 5 must be in a safety seat unless they are on a school BUS or shuttle. The vans are NOT included in exceptions, and the children are in danger!
My child is never transported the same way, just because you child is on a bus does not mean they always will be!
Not all the drivers know how to install the seats. You CAN send your personal seat to school - I do!
Please call Transportation and the Superintendent and complain. I have called both as well as the police department and the preschool. Leaving messages. I am aware the police do not generally step in to school district stuff, however I thought they might want to know considering they CAN pull the vans over. I let them know upfront that I had already contacted the district 1st and was just passing on information.
I will report the district to state if this is not resolved quickly and parents are made aware of the situation BY THE DISTRICT.
