Alert | | Not only did they check my battery, but changed it too. Even though it was leaking and spilling all over. I forget the name of the guy though :-(. He was younger around 24 I think. But this was the 5th time I was there and was treated nicely.

Alert | | I'm glad you had a good experience! Not to spoil the wonderfulness, but we have not yet had a good experience there or Checker. But I am glad that someone is getting them! | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | | AutoZone was great when my old car broke down. They loaned my husband the right tool to get the car fixed so we could drive it to Chandler and trade it in!

Alert | | nope, not me. continually ordering the wrong part. 5 times total I think it was, we had to special order a thermostat for our car, they don't carry it normal (which in and of itself is okay). 5 times they ordered the wrong one before we called it quits and special ordered it from the dealer. One time they actually said that WE put in the wrong order number. As if I walked behind their counter and fiddled with their computer system! | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | | but seriously, when i'm about to give up totally on the customer service in this town, I really enjoy reading that others are enjoying their experiences. Hearing positive stories makes me want to try again (although I'm for sure done with Autozone hehe) | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | | When my check engine light came on I called Fletcher's and they wanted $90 just to tell me why it was on! I don't trust Fletcher's anyway but didn't know what else to do until a coworker told me that Auto Zone can check it for me for free by plugging into the "computer" system in my car with a handheld device. It was nothing but a bad O2 sensor and I would have been PISSED if I'd spent $90 for that! I was helped by the same guy JAG was and he was very friendly : )

Alert | Just be VERY CAREFUL with the prices you pay at Autozone. I recently tried to buy three different items that were on sale. Not one of the items rang up with the correct price. The clerk was not able to override the register so that it would charge the price as listed on the shelf.
When the manager came over, she too could not get the register to ring up the correct price. She removed the items and re-intered them manually, but the register 'corrected' the prices back to a higher amount. I then asked if Autozone has any policy regarding incorrect price scanning and she said, "Not that I am aware of. You can either take it or leave it."
Later that day I contacted the Attorney Genreal's office regarding illegal price scanning procedures, and was told by the AG's office that they already have filed suit against Autozone.
(For anyone interested, here is a link to the AG's page regarding their lawsuit -- http://www.azag.gov/messages/AccuratePricingJuly2006.html).
