I think I'm into it more than my kids. Im going to have to rent a kid to go to the movie. My odest doesn't care about it anymore, and the young one doesn't understand.

Just reserved the book today for DD. We are excited about the book and the movie. We need to take a trip though to read the book. All the others we read on the road.

Can't wait for the final book! I have pre-ordered the deluxe edition from Amazon and will be at Barnes & Noble to get a copy at midnight. My nephew will be with me and I am trying to convince him to drive us home so that I can start reading as soon as we leave the store. He keeps saying that he is too young to drive, but I know it's because he wants to start reading his book before I can start mine. Oh, he's 11. . .

(Just kidding about having him drive, but I do have this vision of us sitting in the car in the parking lot reading.)

Anyone else see the movie yet? Went this morning. Best HP movie yet I feel. Very good. No spoilers here, but it was very good.

My nephew is coming down from Vegas next week (for the book release!) and we swore that we would wait and see the movie together. . .I was hoping that it would be at the IMAX theatre in AZ Mills, but so far, I haven't seen it listed on their website.

Also, does it seem odd to you that out of 4500+ users on the old forum that only 5 of us are admitting to being HP fans?

Saw this yesterday. It was good. Make sure the kids are old enough as this HP is darker like the book. I had to listen to a little girl through most of the movie asking to leave. Then her mother gets a phone call and is talking behind me! "I'm at the movies, I'll call you back, yeah I'm watching Harry Potter. Blah, blah, blah." Rude people! Ok rant over.

Karen Hope you find a baby sitter. Good luck.

Saw it last night. I loved it! However it seems a bit too much for young ones. I know kids are desensitized these days, but it seems better suited for 13+ imo.

This HP is rated PG-13. Yes it is not for the very young or those scared easily. The book was darker and so is the movie, but it's still good! My kids have kind of grown up with HP so this has not been an issue, but I do wish parents would use discretion when taking younger children.

Okay my kids are 6 and 8 but they love Harry Potter and they've seen the other ones, most of them on DVD. Should I wait until it comes on DVD to let them see it? They kind of scare easy. I don't want them to have nightmares, eventhough they never did with the other HP's. My eight year old read this book so he already knows what it's about. They've seen Spiderman, Transformers, Pirates all those recent movies. Have does this one compare to some of those? My husband thinks him and I should see it first and then decide if it's something that they should see and take them after we see if first.
As far as a babysitter, have you thought about taking them to the little daycare area that is in the Harkins Theater over by Chandler Mall? I don't know how much it is for that but it's not a bad concept there. Drop the kids off, go see a movie and pick them up right there when the movie is over. Can't be much more than a sitter costs now a days. Just a thought.

It's hard to judge what other people deem ok for their child to see. I agree with seeing it first yourselves.

sj ~ Their is a difference between the TV and the big screen. If you little ones saw the other HOs they would probably be fine. I thought the dementors in the other movie were pretty scarey because there were a lot of them and often, but I think the ones in this one weren't as bad. When I say darker I mean that the mood and the content is just way more serious.

I love the concept of the day care at Harkins. Our kids are too old for that when it came around, but we still threaten to send them there.

I LOVED this movie. When it comes out on DVD I will watch it over and over and over.

I agree with Java Lover that the content is a bit darker. Some serious action, and DEFINITE emotion. I'll say no more...

Anyways. Going to pick up DH tonight at midnight. Plan to have it done by Sunday evening.
Hopefully. That's when I have to get done by, cause then my mother gets it.

I saw OOTP this weekend and I am sad to say that I was very disappointed. I knew that a lot of the book would have to be cut because of its length, but I thought the movie was choppy and hard to follow for anyone that had not read the book.

We just saw the movie today and LOVED it! I didn't read the book either and I didn't think it was hard to follow at all. My 6 yr old and 8 yr old loved it too and weren't scared one bit. They actually thought the last HP was more scary. The content is more serious, but we all really liked it. When it comes out on DVD I could watch it again and again.

So, I got the scoop on the theater at Chandler Fashion Mall. It is usually open by 11am. Weekdays movies have to be over by 10 or 11 pm (can't remember specifically) and weekends over before midnight. Reservations are not required, but they do recommend calling a head.

The cost is either $6 or $6.50. They said it was $.50 more than getting a child ticket. Kids have to be potty trained and not in a diaper. They get popcorn and water and can watch movies or play or do art work. Seems like fun and a way for me and DH to get out also.

All employees are background screened and finger printed. You get a pager like at the restuarants and wear a matching braclet so that only you can get your child out. DH is out of town, but I can't wait to try this out.
