Alert | | i have seen what movies have been made from the series, but have not yet read any of the books. which is actually quite odd for me, because generally i am much more of a reader than a watcher. i think perhaps it is time for me to start at the very beginning and take them out of the library in order. being a big fan of immediate gratification, now that the last book has been written, i will never have to wait to see what happens next! BTW, i know nothingtodo is reading it.

Alert | | We have always read the HP books as a family aloud. We bought the book at midnight on Friday and started it yesterday. DH had to work today, so we are anxiously awaiting his return!

I was NOT a reader at all until I started reading these a few years back. They are phenomenal, and this last one certainly does not disappoint. I would highly recommend doing that. | | Go Blue!!!!!

Alert | | I finished this book Sunday evening around 6PM and I think it was awesome! Ms. Rowlings did an extraordinary job of bringing the series to an end. I am reading the book a 2nd time at a little slower pace in order to more fully enjoy the story. I was in a mad rush the first time because I had to know how it ended! Needless to say, the world of Harry Potter is one that I will visit over and over again!!

I have read and understood the posting on this thread and have nothing to add.
| | Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem. ______________________________________ *************************************** San Diego Super Chargers! GO!!! Joined old forum March 2006 Post count: 3068 + these | |

Alert | | The book was fantastic! I found it a little slow in the middle, but there was a huge payoff in the ending scenes. I must admit, I cried at the end. I'm sad that the series is over, but she ended it wonderfully.

Alert | You guys are making me chew nails... I am an avid reader, but haven't read them as I thought it would be a great thing to do with my son and get the whole set at once... It has been horrible waiting for the movies... Now, I am ready to get the set start from the beginning and will probably drive my family crazy of doing it together... I love family time | | *********************** Heat beats snow!!!

Alert | | I have always wanted to read the books but with me being a full time medical student and working full time I don't have much time for leisure reading. I would love to know are the movies the same as the book or at least close? I have seen every movie but I didn't know if I was missing anything?

Alert | OMGosh! We each read a chapter and have picked back up reading after DD came home. How is it that I keep getting the chapters with the really sad parts. I can barely read for crying. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/crying.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Crying' align='absmiddle'> About 1/2 way through though...
babytamtam ~ The movies are not bad, but obviously they can't not cram over 800 pages into 2 hours of movie. The movies do leave out some very good parts and some of the movies have left out key sences, imho. When you get time read or get the CDs.

Alert | | Finished it 2 days ago and I chewed off 3 nails and cried near the end. I can't believe it is over. I am mourning the loss of this series since I can no longer wait for another one!
