I will be making an appointment to take my six year old boxer to the vet this week. He seems to have an incontinence problem. He has always been a lazy dog, and even when he was younger he would dribble a little on his way outside. He hasn't done it in years. He has started up again. Take last night for example; he was sleeping, and he jumped up and ran out the doggie door. He left a little trail all the way out. My thought is he knows he is supposed to go outside (he ran out afterall), so could he have an infection or something?

He very well might have an infection. Take him to the vet, have a u/a done and further testing if necessary. Incontinence is very treatable! There are two vets in town, call both for a quote. Maricopa Animal Hospital 520-568-2224 (my preference) or Maricopa Wells Animal Hospital 520-568-6645.

Yes, he may have a UTI, but if he's been doing this all his life, he more than likely was neutered too young. That is a very common issue that comes along w/ puppies being neutered when they are very young.

I'd rather deal w/ that problem than a slew of unwanted puppies because of a non-neutered dog though!

Well, I have an appointment for him this week. I just wondered because he hadn't done it for a while - that I noticed. I have no idea how old he was when he was neutered since we rescued him. Thanks!!
