Alert | I read my HOA rules before I moved here but I must have missed that one. I came home today to a warning letter from the HOA that I had too many landscape lights. We bought a 10 pack and they go up my driveway and around my walkway to the front door. I guess the max is 8? Does that include the lights outside your front door and garage? I just think that is rediculous- they are not flood lights or anything like that- they're small solar lights which just shine a little light on the ground. I have no weeds, no garbage cans out and I don't park in the street. I guess all they could think of to bother me with is the lights. Does anyone else think this is a bit overboard?

Alert | | I wish someone would regulate the landscape lights in my area, the house down the street from me has a ton and they look really bad (cheap ones thrown around). So long as they look good I don't see why this should be an HOA issue. | | "Nobody cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy"

Alert | Yeah, you're right. We pretty much get bored on weekends and try to think of new things to fine people for....
OR...If you had submitted an architectual request for any modification to the exterior of your home this is an issue that would not have suprised you, and that you could have appealed by provideing photos, sketches, and communications.
And I may be jumping to conclusions here, but I'm basing this off of previous posts. Please don't reply with "but my neighbors have lights, but my neighbors have weeds, but this person did this, and my yard is perfect." None of those are relative to this violation.
My suggestion? Submitt a request with the amount of lights you want, and the area you want them in. Then see what the Architectual Committee says.

Alert | | I'm sorry- I guess I didn't realize that we needed to submit a request to the Architectual Committee to put landscape lights up. I didn't submit a request for the boulders or trees in my yard. I'm not trying to be rude- I just think that is a bit over the top. So, how do you go about submitting a request? I'm sorry, this is the first time I've owned a house with an HOA and I realize that to do certain things you need permission, I just didn't think sticking a couple of landscape lights in was one of them.

Alert | Call or Email Kriss, and request an Architectual Variance form. He'll fax, send, or email to you. You fill it out, and return. Kriss sends it to Architectual Committee for review. You need to do this for any modifications that are visible from the exterior of the home.
Does everyone abide by this? No. But we did get one two weeks ago requesting to change out the tree in the front yard. We also get them for lights. And the people who do submit requests will NEVER receive a fine for the work.
I know it's really boring to read, but it really is all spelled out in the CC&R's.

Alert | | Thank you for that information. I did read the CC&R's before I moved in but I guess I didn't retain every bit of it. Can you give me Kriss's email address? Thanks.

Alert | Hahaha, my name is Desertgal, and I don't know what I'm talking about!
I head the architectual committe, and two other residents, Greg and Leslie are on the committe with me. I have and keep every email of every request, and the discussion that follows, up tot he point where I send a reply to Kriss. Any RESIDENT OF SENITA is more than welcome to come look at my emails tracking requests.
If you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut! You have already publicly stated your dislike for HOA's. We get it, you don't like them. You can stop posting about it now.

Alert | I wouldn't say it's getting to me. But people come on here and spew forth unfounded claims and statements, and I'm calling them out on it. Somebody needs to.
Many people accept things they read as fact, and when people post egregiously inaccurate information others take it for the truth.
There are 30-40 people who show up to every meeting, and listen to every thing said, and ask excellent questions. And they know what's going on. And then there are those who get there noses bent out of shape and run out and spread fallacies. This is even easier behind the anonymous veil of an avatar.
I'm not going to stand for people making unfounded claims and accusations at our Board, our Management Company, or any part of our community. Unless, of course, it's called for. And there are times that the Board, myself included, Ogden, and Kriss have made mistakes. And I think those things should be discussed and brought to the attention of our residents. But I will continue to actively and aggressively refute, confront, and correct misleading, unreliable, and untrue information. Especially when it is presented as fact.

Alert | Well, I do give you credit. You are a unpaid rep. Not too many people are willing to step up to that challenge. So give yourself a pat on the back and don't let the responsibility affect your life. After all, your first priority is your family and your own well being. Being a board rep.should come secondary.

Hahaha, my name is Graham, and I don't have any finesse. It's hard to believe that you're the head of anything with the motor mouth that you have.
This is still a free country, and I DO NOT have to keep my mouth shut, and I can post anytime I desire. You still don't have the right to tell me what to do.
Kriss Lindberg refused to give us the names of the members of the architectural committe; therefore, we concluded that there is no architectural committee. He must be a one-man show.
We're glad we don't have to live in Maricopa. As soon as we are able to dump our two houses there, we will be much, much happier. We do all our shopping in Casa Grande, Ahwatukee, Chandler and Tempe. We refuse to support Maricopa in any way, shape or form. The schools are bad, the houses are crowded together, and the socialism of the HOAs is too much to take. We are, by far, not the only ones who feel this way.

Alert | Free Speech does not mean freedom from responsibility. If you care to make unfounded claims, others have the right to stop you in place.
Just because something is not public record does not mean it does not exist. Any conclusions you come to are your fault.
And I'm glad we finally found a point to agree on! I too am glad you don't live in Maricopa.

Alert | Thanks desertgal, since you do NOT live in Maricopa, i would pleased not to see you in this forum !!!!, commenting on schools and homes in Maricopa is easy, but altleast we are better off than Phoenix, where police officers are shot at, drug cartilling occurs and homes are used for drug trafficking

Alert | Hey Rich,
I usually chuckle at your posts, but honestly, this time I'm confused. I'm guessing you are calling me corrupt. And I don't really get it. I'm not dishonest. I don't feel I allowed my intergrity to be questioned. In fact, I think quite the opposite occured. I believe that I am standing up for what I believe in. And that is dissemination of factual statements.
I honestly grow weary of people using this site to spread ugly rumors, and I'm taking a stand. (Though we both know that will change little)
Anyway, like I said, usually dig what you say, just didn't get it this time. Feel free to explain, or ignore... either way

Alert | Forensic - I like HOAs, don't get me wrong. It just seems from your posts that you REALLY enjoy your position of authority over your neighbors. I am not saying you are corrupt, but that you delight in being the landscape-overlord of Senita.

Alert | I believe Graham is trying to do his part since no one really wants to step up to the plate and take ownership on many things. He is doing what he can to enforce rules were all agreed too(CC&R's). So we attack the messanger why? IMO seems a bit odd.
