I know in the past this had come up. Thought I would share an article that is on the web since apparently its the season. How tragic. I haven't seen the wild horses along 347 before but hearing everyone's stories is quite amazing!!

The big difference is the wild horses found to the north of Maricopa are not on BLM land and considered wild mustangs. They are on the Gila River Indian Community and are property of either the tribe as a whole or private individuals within the tribe. Most are branded with the owners mark.
