Alert | | It takes money. Currently, we are in the process of meeting with architects. Once we know what kind of design and everyone agrees on it, we have to get a capital campaign started. We are looking at several ways to raise the money. So, if someone should come into a big windfall, that would help. If you would like to get involved, sign up at church, and you can be part of making this happen.

Alert | Is there enough property at the present location to build a new church?
My wife and I attend Our Lady of grace whenever we are in Maricopa. I thought I heard that the Tucson Diocese required that a new church be built on a larger tract of land then the present location.

Alert | | During mass they have said there is not enough room on the current location for a new church therefore they will have to purchase new land. | | "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." ~ Dr. Suess

Alert | Actually, the current location could be used to build a church, but it might only be large enough to hold approximately 500 people. The Tucson diocese would like us to build a church for 1,600 people. There are negotiations going on which might mean we get some other land. If the negotiations fall through, we would probably build on the current site. If we build on the current site, we would probably have a new church in less than a year. If we get a new site, then that would definitely take more money and time.

Alert | | I hope it stays on the same land we're on now. The smaller the church the stronger the community, in my opinion.

Alert | | The last word I got was the current land is going to MUSD. The land is to small for new building and parking lot. A Famer was going to donate lane to OLG. Don't know where yet. | | "Always Moving Forward"

Alert | | The school district and the Diocese of Tucson are discussing a possible land swap. I believe that there was an article on this site about the possibility. However nothing has been decided yet.
