this might be a dumb question: but how are pagan playdates different from other playdates? or are you just looking for other pagan families to hang out with? I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just curious.

No different. Just looking for others pagans to hang out with. And i don't want to make other mothers nervous if I show up wearing a pentacle necklace. Plus I was thinking that if there were a group of us we could do more activities that teach our children the religion, kind of like a Sunday school thing. But I don't have a problem if you want to make a playdate and you aren't pagan, as long as nothing is said about  whose religion is right or wrong.

What about Pigeon play dates? I got a few that are looking for other feathered pals to shoot the crap with.

Your post makes no sense to me. You think kids that young really care about religion? They're too busy trying to eat food off the floor and crawling.

I guess the same can be said of people who seek Christian fellowship. We like to think that agreement on one thing will make us more compatible. However in my experience, a shared faith is no guarantee of compatibility.

As for wearing the pentacle, if it's going to make people uncomfortable, then why do it? Let them get to know you first, and to know that you aren't the Boogeyman. Then be "yourself". We all do that anyway, don't we? Reveal things as we go along? For example, Drummer doesn't tell people upfront that he's a cross-dressing bull fighter. They find out the third or fourth time they get drunk together. Right, Drummer?

go for it, were the pentogram i think its great. no different than a thumper wearing a cross, right?

i'll hang out with you, we have a 7 month old ourself. i am not religious at all, so you being a pagan is no prob with me. in fact i would love to pick your brain about paganism, not because i want to join up but because its interesting. i am not a believer that there is "one way&one way only" as far as religions go

You wear a pentacle, does that mean you practice witchcraft?

i dont think she practices witchcraft, besides what is witchcraft exactly? are you referring to the insanity of 18th century new england where the pilgrims/puritans burned 100 or so people to death for alleged witchcraft? remember at one time christianity was so different from other religions that it was looked at like a very odd religion so paganism doesnt refer to witchcraft i believe

I Googled 'pentacle' and one of the websites talked about magick. I guess many pagans believe they can cast 'energy spells' which is considered magick. Sanuye, am I even close here?

I used to rent a room with a group of Druids back east, they bought a old mansion and used to rent rooms out for income. I also have alot of pagan friends as well. You are right with your concerns though and I would be with it as well. Paganism in itself is a confusing term and covers vast amounts of faith both modern and anchient, so its a big scary word to those who are not informed of history or terms.

I do not know of any pagans in this area, but I also do not know anybody around here as well. Peace be with you
