Lots of fun - parking is a bit rough but to be expected. Depending on where you live - the display might be just as good from your own backyard.

The best fireworks around are at Tempe Towne Lake.  You can get discounted tickets at Frys.  It opens at 4:00 and the fireworks are at 9:00.  There is grass for sitting on, but you have to get there early for good places to sit.  But the fireworks shot off over the water are spectacular!  However, you have to realize that it is very hot sitting out there at 4:00.  Bring lots to drink.

last year's show at Pacana was exceptional. with the gas prices high, we're staying local and enjoying our town's display.

I'm staying local. we are going to walk down to pacana or finally throw our house warming party.

Anyone know if the fireworks would be visible from porter and smith enke? will there be beer vendors at the BBQ? how about a car show? I read somewhere that the fireworks would be a 30 minute display, that should be pretty sweet.

2 years ago we lived in chandler and went to tumble weed park, that was nice. We did it again last year because we didn't know Maricopa did anything. This year I will definitly be at the local event!

My neighbor told me their was some issue with the timing of last years show. They said it pissed everyone off and that the PRL guy had a big attitude about it. What's that all about?

I have never seen fourth of July fireworks in AZ. I keep hearing Tempe Town Lakes. Who else is going to that one? I have family in Phx, so we will probably go that way.

They moved up the show last year after the 119 degree heat zapped the projector Community of Hope church loaned to show the movie. If I remember, there was one poster on here named brandon who was hell bent to trash Marty over the decision but there was never an attitude nor did it piss everyone off. He was nothing more than a troll.

Harrah's does not do fireworks. The tribe does the fireworks at the school down Farrel Road. Went there 2 years ago and it was great. When to Pacana Park last year and that one was also great. For more info click here.

RE: Tempe Town Lake

If you go, be warned, it's a madhouse!  Too many people, and you have to get there early (between 4 and 6) to find good parking.  Don't bother showing up around 8 pm.  Fireworks start at 9.

We went once.  We parked at the U-Haul on Rural just north of the bridge.  We were so hot and sweaty when we got to Mill Avenue.  And then we had to walk back.  Never again.

Now I just watch the fireworks from my backyard.

Ditto. We also were impressed with last years show. Plus the shuttle service they offer is a big plus.
