Okay, if your house is like mine, the opening between the master bathroom and the master bedroom has no door.  Typically, this is not a proble...except at 5:15 in the morning when your spouse gets up to take a shower! ERGH!  I was wondering what people have done (if anything) to try and block the sound.  Thanks.

When we built our home we thought that it came with a door between the Master Bedroom and bathroom. Reason we thought that was that all of the interior doors were off of it's hinges in the model. At the last minuet we purchased the option to have a door installed. It came out really nice and it cuts down on the noise when either my wife or I are trying to rest while the other is in the bathroom. The Realtor on site should should bring that up when they show the house. Our last home had a pocket door, which was very nice.

You can still have a door installed, which I think would be the best thing to do in the long run. I would give Mark Troyer of Precision Door and Trim a call (480-694-4642). He's lives here in Maricopa. He may have an idea for you. He is in the process of opening a front room wall in our home an installing a glass french door. As of right now we can't see out of our front window, but now we'll be able to see through the glass french doors and still have the front room as a guest bedroom option wth Roman shades over the glass when we need to cover it up.

We also have a doorless bathroom in our master bedroom and I totally hate it. I purchased one of those folding screens with four panels, it's better than nothing and has worked out. Whoever thought of that idea had to be on something.

Thanks so much for these suggestions. I will look into these options.

Sedona gal said Whoever thought of that idea had to be on something."- I also think this about having windows in the bathroom that don't open...unless you have a window over your shower, in which case it does open, but it really don't help much- LOL!

Same here. We put some curtains up. It keeps the light out and helps keep the heat in.
Got the curtain from Pier 1 and the rods from Bed Bath and Beyond. The curtains were too long so I had them cut to the right length and hemmed and with the extra material had 2 pillows made for the bed. Looks really nice.

At least they put a door on the entrance to the toilet room right?? :-)

Problem solved....

Hi, my husband uses another bathroom for showering, etc in the morning, out of courtesy to me so I won't be disturbed. Is that an option for you?

You have a door on the entrance to the toilet room?  Our builder wanted extra $ for the door.  I saved $500!

My was standard as they say... Wow $500 for a door, man I would have saved the cash too if I could have. :-) That is nuts what they get for some basic things these days... Times are a Changin...

You should see how much they wanted for the toilet. Outhouse rental was the way to go! I got the yearly rental discount on the porta potty. I'm just worried about being in it during the monsoon season. I don't want it to blow over when I'm in it!.. Hmm I wonder if it can be teathered down so it won't blow away??

Well I better go now. My porta potty needs some cleaning after the dust storm.

Better be careful you might go out to use it and find that a construction worker has stolen your reading material and left no paper in it for you.... That would be a messing situation :-(

PS- How do you keep the smell down when it is 100+ outside?

It's got an automatic sun roof so I just open it to air it out. It's locked down pretty well too. No construction workers will be able to break in. I'm also thinking about calling the city to see if they are interested in renting it for the 4th of July.

Here are some pics for you guys. http://www.acoinc.com/Products/HighTechII/HighTechII.htm

At my school we once caught kids having sex in a porta potty (yuck)during a ball game. Someone later put up a sign,"if the potra potty is arockin do'tn come a knockin".

I'm ignoring the port-a-potty comments because they are making me nauseaus...

I do not have a spouse but I still think it's the stupidest thing ever to have bathrooms with no doors. I know they put doors on the WC in houses like this, but please. Builders are ridiculous. The floor plans often times make no sense and have incredible amounts of wasted space, then they make you pay for things that should be standard - like bathroom doors! What a racket!

Repeat after me...

Probably not the most romantic thing but I guess you have to go with what works.

Our master bath is set up the same way .  However, our toilet, w/i closet, and linen closet have one.  Go fig.  There is no privacy what-so-ever, but as I recall, we basically signed up for that (NO PRIVACY) from day one.
