is anyone else having issues with their mail? i received a package the other day and it was not only open, everything but the letter was stolen out of it! i'm not saying it's maricopa mail contractors or carriers that did it, but i've had issues before as well. sometimes we just won't get mail for a day or two (which is always weird) and then we will have a really full mailbox. almost like they didn't care to deliver it for a few days. i'll get mail that was post marked from weeks before (usually bills that are due that week of me receiving it!) i always pay my bills online and don't count on getting an actual bill in the mail b/c of this. i just don't understand why it's so difficult to get our mail to us. more than not, i will have the neighbors bills in my box as well. so who knows how many people have my letters! it just gets really old.

We live in the Villages and there will be a day or 2 that we don't get any mail at all, then all of a sudden its full.  I think our mail carrier just doesn't feel like delivering all the mail some days and calls it a day early.

before moving to maricopa back in Feb of 2007 we had heard about the mail service in our little hamlet....so we have a p.o box at the ahwatukee post office....we do have a couple of bills that do come to our local mail box and i agree that they seem like they are due within a couple of days of receiving them....

When I first moved out here I not only would recieve my mail late but my DVD's that came from blockbuster where getting stolen.

I tried addressing the issue with the local post office, but the post master never got back to me.

But now I haven't had any issue thus far (Knock on wood)

It happens in the Villages all the time.  We will get NO mail for a day or 3, then the box is full.  I have called the post office and their response has always been "that must be how your mail comes, we deliver all the mail everyday", which of course is a lie.

I was told that we are no longer getting the Fry's and Basha's ads in the mail anymore from a mailcarrier. So, that is not the mail carriers fault, but I am with you on mail coming in groups. My mail lady is very good but when she is on vacation or out for the day that is when the mail is "light" or "gone".

That's of no help to someone who MIGHT make it into the Valley once a month.   We have been fairly lucky lately, but have had mail go MIA in the past only to show up months later.  How could mail just circulate randomly for two months?

For the grocery ad situation, contact the Arizona Republic at 602-444-4586. The AZ Republic owns and operates Buyers Edge, a direct mail product that is mailed to over 1.2 MILLION households each week in Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Maricopa is part of area 16. If you subscribe to the AZRepublic, it comes in the paper on Wednesday. If you don't, buyers edge is _supposed_ to be mailed and received at the homes Tues/Wed each week.

The grocery stores are paying big bucks each week for those inserts. I'm sure the corporate offices would be interested in knowing they aren't being received to entire communities. Don't call the local stores - call the Phx corporate offices and ask for the marketing department.

Fritz..that's exactly what I told my husband..I can't imagine that Fry's and Basha's are aware of the fact they are not being delivered...

I'll wait to see what happens this week...before I call..

Here's a head scratcher...I received a letter mailed from N.J. and a letter mailed in Maricopa both postmarked the same day...it took 4 days for delivery..for a letter mailed within city limits???

I just think they are overwhelmed in the P.O. and need to hire full time carriers that receive benefits etc....instead of outsourcing the carrier jobs...$13 something an hour..wear and tear on YOUR car...no benefits...yeah they pay mileage but I bet it's no where near enough to cover their fuel....where's the incentive?

I have to agree with"TortosaGuy" with getting a PO Box, however this doesn't resolve the issue, of not getting your mail. We as a community need to start filing complaints with the Post Master, and his Suporvisor(s). If this doen't resolve the issue, then keep bombarding them with complaint and heck contact the news stations. Who knows there might be someone out there that will listen.
