Looks like Maricopa got back into the 30 year transportation plan.

So driving should be a little easier in 2038. . . if it passes.

that's good news. Good for our city politicians and residents who went to the meeting for busting their ass to protect our interests.

But nothing happens if people don't get out to vote in November and accept a 1 cent state tax increase for it. This won't just be about Maricopa....the whole state will vote on it.

Maybe they can rip out the overpass for the train. 35 million does not seem reasonable when people could have bought houses before you get to the tracks. The 347 widening will be a welcome addition.

Perhaps they can take out the $208 million too. People could have bought houses in Chandler.

Caveman, must be one of the sore losers that bought a house in Maricopa.

Seriously, the only thing they really need to do to cut down on my commute is to extend I-10 three lanes to the Queen Creek exit. Three lanes on Maricopa really isn't going to do much, if anything to improve driving times. If there is a major accident, all 3 lanes are going to be shut down, just like the 2 were. I live 14 miles past the railroad tracks on 347, but I rarely use that crossing. Ralston is better, the trains move faster out there.

The easiest thing to do to cut down on traffic times is to keep gas at $4. Driving is a breeze these days.

Thats a very short sited view. With home sales picking up here its only a matter of time until 347 is at capacity again. Especially in the winter with the snow birds finding newer, large, cheap winter homes here in maricopa.

Does anyone know if the plans include exit ramps instead of traffic lights at the intersections?

I wouldn't count on the traffic lights coming down. Besides, ADOT only owns the land up to the fenceline on either side of the road; not enough room to build exit ramps. And I don't think GRIC is interested in selling, either.

Exit ramps would be great but I know they are very expensive so I doubt they'll build any until the population gets larger. I don't see any reason why the Indian Reservation wouldn't let ADOT build the ramps in the future though. I'm sure the people who live on the reservation hate sitting in traffic on the 347 as much as we do. I also read somewhere that the Native Americans are concerned because all the new traffic out here is effecting police/fire/ambulance response times on the reservation.
