Unfortunately, I had to work and could not attend the meeting this week.  Can someone give me a brief rundown as how the meeting went, what was discussed, any results?

from what i heard (that's only hearsay): not much progress and somebody there was not concentrated or was pretty much distracted the entire night.

I'm a little confused as to who "was not concentrated or was pretty much distracted the entire night." Can you explain that?

I felt it was one of most productive meetings yet. It was the first that the actual board ran, instead of Ogden. We discussed things in a timely fashion, we voted on severl action items, we had spirited debates, and we answered EVERYONE's questions.

I usually type a summary of the whole meeting, but work is kicking my butt right now, and I'm on 13-16 hour shifts. I'll get a meeting review up as soon as I can.

C&W - what progress were you expecting? Are there certain items that you want brought up? Everyone there had a chance to talk and bring up concerns and question the progress on any issue. Every item was discussed. If the person you talked with didn't think there was progress made, they should have said something. The next meeting is June 24th so I expect you to be there and every other home owner that has questions or concerns. The HOA members can not read minds (I know I can't) or address concerns if they are not brought to our attention. I know I wasn't distracted or confused and thought the meeting went very well. What are your expectations?

I too agree that this was by far the BEST HOA meeting yet. We still have a long way to go. But surely KUDIOS are in order. I think that the reason for thinking someone was disinterested during the meeting was ...........a Board member was sitting there rolling their eyes.........making faces.......and just plain not interested in what was being said., and that was observed by the residents who attended. Keep up the good work. We DO APPRECIATE ALL YOR EFFORTS.

I just think that board member was frustrated - not disinterested.

I am pretty sure I know the point that is being made, but I don't really want to comment on it.
There was a bit of disinterest from a particular person at the meeting......

Anyways, Great job board members. This was the best meeting so far!

Glad it was ran by our board and not Ogden. You can tell most everyone was happy with the meeting due to the lack of postings on the meeting. There wasn't 10 or 20 responses with negative posts the day after the meeting.

I do have one question that I thought of after the meeting. With the fine schedule- when it increases.... Is that 1 increase every month or 1 increase each time it is observed, meaning every 10 days????

Thanks again board members, kudos!

Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

well i was not able to attend the meeting. when you can ForensicUnit, i would very much appreciate the recap of the meeting.

reason i could not attend is cause i plain forgot out it till 9:30pm and figured it was almost over. how long did the meeting go till?

Money isn't everything.
Everyone just thinks it is...

Thanks Jackamis and Reagan - I'm pretty sure it's going to be every time the violation is written. If the HOA waited an entire month, that would mean the violator could get 3 $50 fines in 1 month due to violations can be written every 10 days. Then the next month get all $100 fines and then the next month all $150 fines up to $250. I think Rod's point was to give a $50 violation and each violation thereafter for the same offense would increase by $50. I will definitely make sure we are all clear on it next meeting before we vote on it because I'm not 100% sure.

Lets all take a step back and not jumb to conclusion with regards to my statements. I am by no mean to state that I do not appreciate what the Board has done, vise versa with homeowners attending the monthly board meeting. There's been major strides and progress are coming along. I do not expect immediate progress (if only in a perfect world). I, like many other homeowners, would like to make Senita a community where you WOULD want to call home. Given the state of our economy and the type of people who are moving in the community, I just feel frustrated how these homeowners (or renters) are neglecting their property. We have many homeowners who are trying their hardest to keep their property in good condition, but you glance across the neighbor's property....it's depressing. I'm not an investor so my only investment is within the community. I've done my fair share "behind the scene". I report to Kriss when matters need attention, but I (or we) shouldn't feel like I'm doing his job.

I've been attending the boarding meeting when it began, but because of change in work schedule and school I've not been able to the last two meetings. By the way Graham, I don't know if anyone had commended you for your effort, if not, then I would like to say I do appreciate the time and effort you put in (on this forum and at the meetings).

Thanx C&W. I try my best. Remember this when my one year term is up...cause I will run for re-election. I wound up with the shortest term, because I wanted to run committees, review architectual requests, take more of an enforcement role, etc, instead of having a titled position like President or VP.

And sometimes I complain alot, and sometimes I get frustrated. but it really is nice being involved, and having a positive impact on my neighborhood.

C&W, I didn't mean to pick on you, but your original post had two takes on the meeting and both were negative and I would hope that's not all everyone got out of that meeting. If I didn't go to the meeting and got on this forum and read your post, I would think the meeting was a waste of time and that the HOA board was doing nothing productive. Again, I don't think that was a fair representation of what transpired.

I guess that frustrates me because I know the amount of time spent researching, calling, e-mailing, interviewing, discussing, etc.. that the board does and I see the positive steps being taken to improve the community.

I'm not saying that every meeting in the past has been good because I know some weren't and I do expect to hear criticism when things aren't getting accomplished. I totally respect that and hope people hold the board to high standards. You won't hear me defend a crummy meeting.

On another note, I agree that we have work to do when it comes to cleaning up the neighborhood. The board has already paid to have 60+ homes cleaned up and more are on the list to be cleaned. Anyone interested in a community clean up to help save your HOA money? It is your money after all that the HOA uses to clean these homes.

I think we all need to get away from using Kriss as a crutch to not help out around the community. This is OUR community and we can't count on Kriss to fix every little thing. Pick your neighbor's weeds - I know a lot of people do. We even have a home owner who paints all the graffiti in the neighborhood - for FREE and his family even does it when he is out of town!!! I would write his name in here but I don't know if he wants me to use it. Graham has volunteers for the architectural committee and many other people signed up for other committee's that the HOA will hopefully implement in the near future. Thank you to everyone who takes additional responsibility in the neighborhood.
