Yes, I definitely agree!
Last year at founder's day, my husband and I made a request to 85239.com that "The Lakes" at Rancho el Dorado be added to the communities section of the forum. They have yet to add it. I am glad someone else is making the same request.
To the administrators of the forum, please add "The Lakes" to the communities section of the forum.

After careful consideration the answer is no. With a possible recession looming we all need to cut back a little.

Thanks,

Higgs

Liberalism and capitalism address themselves to the cool, well-balanced mind. They proceed by strict logic, eliminating any appeal to the emotions. Socialism, on the contrary, works on the emotions, tries to violate logical considerations by rousing a sense of personal interest and to stifle the voice of reason by awakening primitive instincts.

When we first moved in I sent 85239 a message about this and I believe they said they'll consider it.  Then, we talked to them personally at the Founder's Day and filled out a comment form and they said they'd add it.

So, basically, I don't think it's a priority for them.  But we think it would be nice since some day there will be a lot of people living here.  What development are you in?  We're in Hacienda Amador at the Lakes.

the lakes are as much RED as the villages are. different HOA, different rules and different local concerns.

I wish we bought in the lakes.. I love the idea of being able to row boat.

Yes... They should add "The Lakes" to the website.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

They have nothing to do with the lakes. They just happen to be close enough to use the walking trail

Have any of you actually visited the lakes (which I may add is not a part RED). There are a bunch of mosquitoes over there and as far as I can tell there has not been one house started in the lakes area.

I previously had 1 trillion posts!

must have been a while since you were there, go try again. meritage and hacienda both have a decent number of homes up, especially considering it was all dirt about 6 months ago...

I heard that the 1st name was "West Nile at Rancho El Dorado", but they decided to call it the Lakes, instead.

Blame west nile on the residents of "the lakes".

Visited??  Umm, a lot of people actually live in the Lakes and have for a while.  I'm not sure where you are getting your information from, but I have yet to see a mosquito!  And, like Vinny said, The Lakes belong to a different HOA.  So under the HOA discussion forum, I believe "The Lakes" needs to be added.

Is it true several of the builders in the Lakes are going under and not completing anymore houses?

They are who we thought they were!

Hacienda has closed locations throughout Maricopa and the valley. They have not gone under yet. But let's face the facts. If they stop building there is no revenue coming in so I suspect they will be gone very soon.

UPDATE
According to Big Builder Magazine, Hacienda Builders is in the first stages of due diligence and feasibility for a possible sale to Montage Holdings.

Still the question remains, why close up and stop building unless you have simply run out of money and credit. Hopefully Montage can buy Hacienda (and a few others) and start building again.
