The weather thingy on here says that it is 106 degrees in 'Copa right now. That is CRAZY! The norms are in the 90's. I know I should be used to it, having lived in AZ my whole life, but this still shocks me. Anyone else amazed by the weather???

What the??? I go away for one stinkin weekend and you guys let the temps sneak up to over 100? That's it. I want to talk to whoever is in charge here... I hope it cools down this weekend!

I find these temps unusual. I have been out here since 83 and nothing surprises me. I have seen snow on the Table Top Mountain Range, I have seen snow in my front yard and that was 13 miles south of maricopa back in the 80's. Not quite common, and a 30 degree drop? VERY UNUSUAL! The National Weather Service has not seen this type of weather pattern here in the valley for 100 years., according to FOX 10 news @9. The wind has been awful! Gonna be around for a day or two. I cannot believe we are gonna get rain! What the heck is going on? The monsoon is usually not until July. We are already seeing duststorms and strong winds, and now temp drops, and rain? Gotta wonder!

It's really about average. What isn't average is it hitting like a wall of fire vs having it creep in. Usually April and early May are still quite warm. The rise and fall of temps are WEIRD this year, but the 100 degrees and above hitting when they did is not. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/psr/general/history/index.php?page=100deg I was born and raised in Glendale. It's always fun to listen to people talk about the heat and the monsoons and the humidity like it changes every year. Every year I hear, "It's got hot faster than it ever has before" and "Wow, June isn't supposed to get to 115 - that's August weather." (look at the record temps recorded on the link - all but one are in June and that one is tied several times between June and July) Guess again. June is generally hotter than any other AZ month. It is the humidity that makes end of July-August feel so much hotter (they are more uncomfortable) The average temp in Aug is around 107.
