I have two Siamese cats, one that’s around 13 and then one that’s about three. The younger male is a lot bigger and picks on my older cat a lot. I’ve tried several different things to try to get him to be nicer to her, but I can’t seem to get him to stop. He has been neutered and a spray bottle does nothing to stop him. Does anyone know how to work with a bully cat and get them to calm down?

I have similar issues with our cats.  My bf's cat always bullies my cat.  However, whenever I give my cat catnip it tends to toughen him up for some reason.  Or he just becomes more expressive.  He's a pretty laid back cat, and doesn't really let anything or anyone get to him, not even the dogs.  He sometimes gets perceived as being a wussy, but I see him as classy, sophiticated and low-key.  My bf's cat is always so needy.  Don't get me wrong, I love him to pieces, but he tries to run the other cats off whenever they go near us.  His name is Rowdy and it fits him perfect.

Are you missing the younger "bully" cat? I found one in my garage this morning. He could be 3 years old. Blue eyes, brown and black, with a white "milk" mustache.

I have a suggestion for you about the bullying though, in case this cat is not yours. Get a Bigger Cat to kick his butt! LOL

You'd think the 2 dogs would put him in his place.  Nope.  In fact, he sleeps with the dogs.

We have a cat who is a big (literally, 25 pounds) bully to our other cats. Other than putting her on medication our vet said to put a collar on her that has a bell on it...that way our other cats can hear her coming and get away. We actually found a collar (it might be a dog collar) that has like four bells that run across the top of it. We have tried many different things to get her to be a nice kitty, but she's just a fat grouchy cat. We did try the anti-depressants the vet suggested and they calmed her down...but they made her kind of blah. She wasn't herself, you could definitely tell she was drugged which we didn't think was fair to her.

Good luck...we have the fat meany, a cat who randomly pees on the floor (even on hard surfaces!), and another one that we have to give medication and IV fluids to daily...we are soooo done with pets after these high maintenance kitties!!

Satra, what you have is an agressive 3yr old, and a submissive 13 yr old.  Your 13 year old (a Female) is tired, and will not challenge the younger dude.

Nothing you do is going to "make" one cat be nicer to the other.  There is nothing I know of that will calm a bully.  Has the young male been around this 13 yr old from the kitten stage?  Like 6 weeks old? how long have the two of them been forced to live under the same roof?  The spray bottle is only going to agitate the young male, regardless of the length of their relationship.    I would work on finding a home for the 3 year old.

Just this February I had to put my 21 year old male cat to sleep, and I bottle fed him, because at 2 weeks of age his momma disappeared.  This cat was my cuddle comfort.

Sorry,, I kinda got off on an emotional tangent.  Hope you understand!

Good Luck!
