Just my opinion .. but each time I pass Tutor Time it seems to get larger and less attractive.

Would be nice if that was a Kohl's or Macy's or Target or any retail store going in there.

Do you have kids? As someone who's been taking their kids into town for 2 1/2 years for daycare, it's a welcome sight!

It's still an enormous eyesore.

By the way, is that a QT going up just south of it?

I thought QT was supposed to be next to Fry's, but it sure looks like a gas station going in next to Tutor Time.

I was at a QT today, and it looks very similar to the one in Maricopa.

Imagine how the contractor's going to feel when he finds that he put the gas station on the wrong lot!

I guess, but honestly, after everything I've heard about Tutor Time (mainly from friends working there) I would never take my kids there. I, too, wish it were a store that most people could enjoy, maybe one with a decent reputation.

Are there really that many families that can afford the rates that place charges?

Just wondering

My kids went to Tutor Time at 48th/Chandler for over a year, and we loved it... but we did leave because of the cost.

I've been told that the one in Maricopa will have lower rates, we'll have to see what "lower" means.

How much were you paying for 1 kid at Tutor Time in Chandler?

depending on the age of this kids, it used to be about 200 per week, less for older kids, more for younger.

$200 per week is considerably cheaper than what I was told Tutor Time charges now...I have a friend who recently looked into it and for her infant it was going to be almost $1200 a month, but infant care is always the most expensive...As a person who works in childcare, I really hope that the one in Maricopa is better than the stories I've heard about the other facilities.

I did hear a rumor several months ago that they're putting a gas station immediately next door to Tutor Time. Who is the genius that thought of that plan?? Hey kids, how about we go outside to the playground and inhale gas fumes!! Fun!

I worked at a center that had a gas station next door and it was horrible! There would be people yelling in the parking lot, broken down cars, employees smoking behind the building (by the child center), loud music from cars, and tons of people buying alcohol--with some drinking it in the parking lot! Sometimes people at the gas station would try and talk to the kids or the kids would try and talk to them...It was a very uncomfortable situation to have little kids around all day long. Hopefully the playground will be on the other side and none of the classrooms will have windows facing that gas station.

Thanks for the info. I was figuring on $180-200 week. Luckily I only have 1 preschooler now. A few years ago we were paying about $1400/mo for 2.

Preschool is usually the cheapest so your figures probably aren't too far off. I think that some of the elementary schools out here might have preschool programs too....but I don't really know anything about them. Good luck!

I don't know about costs, but I have a very good friend who is going to work in management at the Maricopa center. She is great with kids and if my kids were going to be in childcare this is the only place that I would let them go. I know that if all employees are like her, they will definitely have the children first in their thoughts at all times.

Since were on the subject, does anyone know when tutor-time is expected to open? Or does anyone know someplace I can take my 3 yr old here in town for 1 day per week?
Thx.
