I'm going to the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson next month and all the driving directions say to take Casa Blanca up to I-10 East and go that way. Isn't it faster to drive through Casa Grande and catch I-10 there?

It's faster to just take the Maricopa/Casa Grande highway into Casa Grande. Then take a right on Trekell or Peart to Florence Blvd. Take a left on Florence and that will take you to I-10.

Have a safe trip.

Java Lover is correct- Casa Grande Hwy is the fastest route for most

It would also be faster to head South and catch I-8 and then take it to I-10 depending where you live in Maricopa.

Another option is to take the Maricopa/Casa Grande highway (238) into Casa Grande, turn right at Thornton (just after you get to town past the Frito Lay plant) and go straight to the 8. Make a left on to the 8 and it will take you right onto the 10. I have done that a number of times and I think it is the fastest.

I go to Tucson often. I take 347 south to where it T's. Turn left and when you hit the circle K in Stanfield, make an immediate right directly after the circle K. This will take you right to 8 which takes you to 10 and Tucson. Never any traffic.

Kind of ironic there is more routes to Tucson than to Phoenix.

Bingo that is the quickest route.

I've lived in southwest Hidden Valley for a very long time. Gizmo's route is the best. I live so close to 84 and I-8 that I just get on 8 at the West end of 84 (where the old VJ Truck Stop was located) and go from there.

I believe you're right. I would take Casa Grande/Maricopa HWY to Pinal ave. Take Pinal South. Go THRU the Florence intersection. Take w. 2nd st (forks left) East.. It will eventuall become Jimmie Kerr BLVD(84). It'll lead you to the 10 fwy.

Taking 347 to HWY 8 is an "L" shape drive. If one takes Florence in Casa grande, the drive is East (and there are many lights/traffic.

The route I give is direct with fewer lights. Just check it out on google satelite maps. You'll see the direct route

We have make several trips to Tucson over the past year for medical care and we have found this to be the quickest with the fewest delays (I think we tried all the routes suggested).

Thanks for the info. What's the best way to come back to Maricopa from Tucson?

Out of curiosity, how many of you taking the MC/CG Highway are going the speed limit (50 MPH, less in construction zones)? I'm wondering if that route is actually faster than going on 347, and (if I recall correctly) 8 which have a speed limit of 65.

Who cares about the speed limit. What's the easiest route back?

Given the random speed cameras, stepped up MPD enforcement and high cost of gas, I do.

lol!!!! I would take the reverse way I suggested how to get out there. I finally had a chance to take the route myself.  The only part that seemed odd was a circular part in CG to get onto Jimmie Kerr from w. 2nd st. It was much easier on the way back.

I didn't have a chance to time it since I stopped in Santa Cruz elementary coming and going. That took me out of the way. But, all in all I believe taking Maricopa/CGH to Casa grande is more efficient.
