I'm excited, and I want everyone here to be excited for me too. I'm hoping some of my friends can come and support me - even if they have to think of their support as secular instead of religious. . . I am the choir director of my congregation (LDS) I wrote a song a few months back. People at church knew I was writing it and asked for a copy. It managed to find its way into the hands of those who make decisions and well. I was called and asked to have my choir perform my song at the Adult Session of Stake Conference (June 14th at 6:00 PM). We have been practicing, and I am getting excited. It is the 1st song I have written all the notes for, and I want to share it with those who are interested. After speaking with my husband about the schedule for the General Session of Stake conference (I will sing with the choir, so I needed to know his schedule was open for the kids), I received a call from a member of the Stake Presidency, and was asked to speak in the Homestead building (June 15th, 10:00 AM). This was shocking to me to say the least, and I'm nervous, but I LOVE my subject Serving as the Savior would have me Serve. I have been praying and thinking, and I will be using examples of the service provided by Christ - found in the Bible (I might dip into the Book of Mormon, but right now I don't think so) I will also deal mostly with the 2nd Greatest commandment "Love thy neighbor as thyself" I certainly would love to have people there. Then you can come back here and tell me all about what I said wrong The building where I will be both days is the Homestead building. It is located in the center of the Homestead Community on DR Horton Dr. You can find the building directly off of Smith Enke or Porter Rd. . . . If you need better directions, I'd be more than happy to get them for you! |
