I'm looking for a good Christian church that is not too modern, any suggestions?  Something more old fashion and formal with solid bibilical teaching?  Thanks for any suggestions here in Copa.

Here is a link from 85239.com that list most if not all the churches in Maricopa

http://www.85239.com/BUSINESS/BusinessDirectory/tabid/62/nsctrl/bzns/cat/11/Default.aspx?page=0

From what you asked, my guess is you would want to try out First Baptist Church of Maricopa as the other Christian churches here in Maricopa are more contemporary in worship.

Yeah, it's true- He allowed the fall of man/
But He used it now to exalt the Lamb/
The Lord, who's wise, permits existence of sin/
to be glorified in His forgiveness to men/

You can't get anymore old fashioned and formal with a solid biblical teaching than the Catholic Church.    If you are interested, Our Lady of Grace is located on Honeycutt across from the High School.

Don't leave your kids alone with the Priests.

I didn't want to bring you into this, but since you did.

Don't leave your kids with Jasony, either.

Congrats to Jasony on his 1st step.  Only 11 more to go.

What are you accusing the priest at Our Lady of Grace of doing?

I am not accusing anyone of anything.  I am just saying that its better to be safe than sorry.  Considering the Catholic church's history with preists who molest kids.

Don't get all righteous and try to defend the church that moved pedo-preists from parish to parish as allegations were made.

Based on your arguement, we should be safe than sorry when it comes to teachers, too.  A lot of them have been in the news lately for having sex with students.

I'm not defending the church officials - I believe that what was done was beyond wrong, it was heinous.  But I have to defend the Church, because what they did is not something that the Church teaches.

Right.  You insinuated that was me and you don't like it flipped back at you. That must be 'different'.

I did attend a Catholic church when I was younger and I was never molested.  And I was a cute kid too, go figure.

I wasn't insinuating you on the original post.  You mistook it if that's how you read it.  I was applying your logic to another group, showing you that stereotyping is not cool.  If you thought I was insinuating you I apologize, but I wasn't.

Then I am truly sorry.  As I am a semi-atheist and I do believe that my actions have no consequence.  Just not the chester molester part.

Wait a minute here; it wasn't only the actions of a few priests, but the manner in which the Catholic Church hierarchy handle the predators when they became privy to the information. The infrastructure of the institution can never become more important than the ideals they which to exemplify.

There definitely is a sound philosophical perspective in which to question the authenticity of someone's faith when they so abhorrent spit in the faith of its tenets. One’s logic would dictate and cause its mind to wonder; can they really believe?

To say these things isn’t an admonishment of the faithful Catholic parishioners, which deserve our admiration.
