I'm moving into trailside tomorrow... lot 2 off of Wilford. Can't wait to move in. Just wanted to say hi to the neighbors!

One question I have for you guys... who do you use for high speed internet? I can't find anyone other than orbital and I can't even figure out how to sign up for them.

First of all, Congratulations on your new home! I hope you enjoy your new digs.

Secondly, personally, there isn't anything "high speed" about orbitel internet. I have orbitel and some days they are really good and some days they are really slow. It just depends. My neighbor has Maricopa Broadband and they seem pretty happy with that. Otherwise, those are the only two choices you have. As far as setting up service with Orbitel, if you just call their number, they should be able to set up an appointment. I am going to warn you though...you will probably go 4 days to a week without service. They aren't very timely when it comes to initial set up.

Again, Congratulations on your new home and Welcome to the neighborhood!

Hope you are happy here in Homestead - we certainly are.   I use Orbitel - had problems at first.   I thought it was my computer, but it was a faulty modem of theirs.    They promptly replaced it and I haven't had any problems since.      I think if yousearch the forums - under technical there is a lot of discussion regarding hi speed internet etc.

Welcome! I live in Shadow Ridge in Homestead and I love it. I use Maricopa Broadband; my fiance, who is a PC gamer and thus very picky about internet speed, has had no problems with it, and I'm happy with it as well.

I am also in Shadow Ridge (hi neighbor) using QWEST with no complaints.

I use Maricopa Broadband here, been great.  Perfect no, but they're very good about calling about any downtime for line maintence, ect.  Speeds have ranged from 1.5 in high peak (rare to be that low though) to 8.2 (around 3am-ish some nights) for me.  Highest claimed is 9mbit... but knowing some neighbors around here that use orbital, been having better luck with MB.  Trancend is also available out here (wimax), but it requires LOS (line of sight) and from what most have been saying, the down speeds are lower than MB and upload is near non existant...

Welcome to the area, if you ever need anything hit me up.  I'm in trailside (homestead).

I finally have internet... went with Qwest. Their FIOS is available in the area and they will soon be offering direct fiber to homes. Speed isn't too big a factor for my internet since the wifi basically caps it.

I still dont' have TV... directv had horrible customer service and two Qwest tv technicians tried to convince me my TV was broken so I kindly escorted them out of my home. I've had about a month of no idea and I've actually enjoyed it.

Has anyone ever considered doing a block party or community get together? I've been here for a few weeks, granted I've never been home lately, but I'd be nice for everyone to have a chance to meet each other.

we have direct tv and haven't really had an issue with customer service. we have however had issues with qwest and their customer serivice. we tried the bundeling with direct tv, qwest phone and internet, but i would much rather have gone through direct tv, directly!
