I've been contemplating signing up for the TOU program, but I'm not sure how much we'd save.  We are pretty much not home M-F 7-7 so it seems like it may fit.

Since summer has hit, I was just wondering what others are seeing for their bills if they are on the TOU program.

Thanks!

TOU may save 20% of your electric bill, IF you are very careful. 1. You need a programable thermostat. Set temp to no lower than 78º from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM and to 90º other times
You must be careful because one day that you are home sick and all of the savings are wiped out.
Always wash and dry laundry and dishes after 9 PM

We've got it and it does save quite a bit. You don't need a programmable thermostat, but it might help. Also, someone is at home most of the day. Having delay settings on the washer and dishwasher helps. We have the thermostat set for 76-79 most of of the day and never go above 80.

I'm on the TOU plan from ED3

9pm-9am Monday-Friday, and all day Saturday & Sunday is cheap rate. Approx 4c/ kWhr
9am-9pm Monday-Friday is peak rate. approx 16c/ kWhr

This is against the standard rate of approx 13c/ kWhr

As I'm out of the house for most of the peak hours every day, and I save my laundry for the weekend and dish-washer for after 9pm, it's only my A/C that runs during peak hours.

I have a 2100 sq.ft single story home and pay around $80-100 per month. My thermostat is set to 76F all the time. I'm sure I could save even more if I upped the temp during the days - but if it isn't broke - why fix it!

I'm very happy with ED3 now that they have this plan - and haven't had any trouble from them ever, unless you count the occasional outage for a few hours over the summer.

I'm on it as well.  If you follow their recommendations, it WILL save you money.

Is there a place on the website with this plan?

What is you are home all day? And with summer coming with children as well. Does this program benefit those who work all day and are only home on the weekends?

DaybyDay yes it is only good for people that are not home 9 am to 9 pm week days. You can set ac to 90º when not home and save 20% on electric bill

Again, not true. Someone is home here all day and we saved quite a bit on our bill.
