I need to have my liscence changed over to an AZ one, which is the closest DMV to Maricopa, how do they usually run?

Click on the link below for locations.  I would say the one in Casa Grande is the closest.

Though it's probably too late, if you need to register your vehicle Pinal county emmisions are a lot less strict (in some cases non-existant) in comparision to Maricopa county.  So, for that I'd deffinatly recommend Casa Grande.  As for the Maricopa side, the DMV off Chandler Blvd runs as well as any other DMV... aka slow.

Maricopa has a DMV office. Why go to Casa Grande or Chandler?

The office in Maricopa is a private enterprise and can not issue new licenses or plates. They are a renewal service.

Ah, good to know! I went to Chandler myself but only becuase I needed vehicle registration and knew the Maricopa location had no emitions location. Didn't realize it was not full service.

The office here in Maricopa does indeed do plates for out of state vehicles.

I've registered two vehicles here in town. The weird thing is, they sent my wife to Casa Grande for something to do with smog on a 10 year old car and as it turns out, there was nothing to do at the CG DMV for it? Go figure. They required nothing additional.

Just remember though, you'll pay a premium for any service performed at the local office.
