04/27/2008 11:51 PM Alert

It's been two days of silence on this forum.  No one wants to complain that we hired H&N?  Or that we haven't hired H&N yet?  No one needs to know when the next meeting is?  Surely someone is upset over the rate of our fees?

No?  Then let's celebrate the things that make Senita kick ass!  How about the fact that I have the most awesome neighbors I've ever had!  Steve, Jesse, Mandy, Vanessa, Jessica!  I'm talking to you!  Maybe it's that I'm snug between Honeycutt and the M/CG Freeway that gives me numerous options when I want to head out.  Or that I'm close enough to the train to hear it's whistle, but not so close that my walls shake.  Could it be that I can't remember seeing graffiti on a wall in over 60 days?  No, wait.  It's that my daughter's elementary school is going to be a short bike trip away next year.  Or that we balanced our budget well enough to be able to afford to clean 66 lots that desperately needed cleaning.

I seriously hope that within 3 months, complaints about our community on here are going to be flukes.  I, for one, like it here.....which is not something I've said since I've moved in.

I like it here as well, but I won't say much until summer just so I can observe from the result of this new enforcements.

PS: My neighbor, on my side of the street, had their yard cleared from weeds (they're probably 1 of the 66 homes on the cleaning list), but the neighbor across the street still has theirs (it's going to start to look like a jungle soon).

I too like it here. I think it's great they made a move on H&N, they are a good company and great folks. As for living in Senita, I'm just happy it's finally warm enough to swim in my pool! But we also have great neighbors.

I agree. We will be living in Senita/Maricopa for a long time to come. We like the people we live around and think we have made some great friends!

This fellow they've nominated claims he's the new Thomas Jefferson. Well, let me tell you something. I knew Thomas Jefferson. He was a
friend of mine. And governor, you're no Thomas Jefferson.

I never seem to see my neighbors . I thought the one house was empty but then a trash can appeared every Sunday.  The neighborhood is very quiet which is great. The people are always nice and waive when you go by. Why would you want to live anywhere else?

I like it too which is why I get so upset when others trash MY neighborhood. I want the emphasis on the word to be "NEIGHBOR"....not "HOOD" and i am worried about some of my so called neighbors not caring one bit. I think all of us complain because we do like it here and want Senita to be a wonderful, safe, beautiful place to live. I have great neighbors all around me too but down the street it's starting to look like a ghetto. Graham, can you tell me if the HOA responds to complaints about trash, empty beer bottles and cans all over the yard - even going so far as to be on a newly cleaned up yard of an empty home across the street? I believe it's one of the 66 cleaned up and these people have littered from one side of the street to another. I've also seen police at this home more then once! Any advice???

beinpositiveincopa - I think the point of the post was that the HOA can eventually get something done after a lot of letters and red tape and eventually pay someone to clean it up or we can take it upon ourselves to walk across the street and spend a few minutes cleaning it up ourselves.

Question is why does it have to get out of control for Ogden to get it taken care of? I have been told the process is 3 letters then the fine to the home owner…. Well how come it takes well over 2 months to get it done? I am not trying to say they are all useless or anything but we pay for a service (Ogden) and by my calculations and these letters and fine should take less then two months. (figures are 1.5 weeks per letter. Figure .5 weeks to get it to owner via snail mail, and a week for the home owner to get it taken care of. This would mean you are at 4.5 weeks total for the letters.. then fine them I think they have had pently of warning..) So what is the hold up here that is all I am really looking for? I think the community is great but sometimes I wonder why pay for a service when you don’t get much? It kind of goes back to the Landscaping argument on bidding issue.

I think you should call Kriss and ask him what he does to earn your money. Then maybe you would feel a little better about your $62/mo. Have you been to an HOA meeting? Kriss said that he gave out over 300 violations the last time he drove through the neighborhood.

I have lived in various communities with HOA's, and from what I can tell, Ogden is an absolut joke.  At  the last meeting Ogden and their people were painful to listen to.  You can almost see our money going into their pockets.  With a community that has this many homes there should be tons of people as far as i can tell that still need weeds cleaned up or something else.  Ogden and Kriss are getting their pockets filled with our money.  Until they are gone, I won't be at another HOA meeting, you cant even ask questions without getting shot down.  What a joke. The board seems pretty logical, I'm sure that Ogdens days are numered.  Ogdens says they work for us, but from what Ive seen thats not true.

I could not have said it better myself!!! I have called Kriss and get no call back and I have emailed and now my emails come back (blocked it seems). I have been professional in all of them mainly asking him only to look at problem homes I see. As for the money in the pockets issue see "Public Landscape Maintenance" post I put up.  Kriss might claim to have sent/handed out 300 violations but again proof? Also how often does he come out and look aroung? 1 time a month or so?? Goes back to the time frame it takes to get something done being well 2+ months.
