Do you really think that the graffiti that happens in our communities is all done by people that DON'T live in the community? For example....Cobblestone Farms park gets spray painted...do you believe that it was an outsider? That there is no way our property could be disrespected by neighbors??

That'll teach me to research before I post... I posted about Hawaii's graffiti laws and then went to find documentation to back it up and found the opposite. Things change, I guess.  Nevermind...

Repeat after me...

If you speak with various police departments throughout Maricopa and Pinal counties, I think you will find that they find most graffiti is from local youth. If the youth do not live where they are tagging, a friend of theirs does, a girlfriend, etc. The police find that it is usually kids right in the neighborhood that are tagging, and that is what is sad, they have no respect for their own neighborhood.

That's what I assume as well. I got the "you-aren't-a-resident-you-don't-belong" lecture from someone at a local park this weekend. I was there with my 3-yr-old & 1-yr-old. He said that "all these people come over into their community and vandalize it"..."that's why they have the signs saying "no trespassing"

I was kind of in shock. First of all, I am far from threatening in any way and if my 3-yr-old showed up with a can of spray paint I think I have bigger problems than they do. Also, since when does a No Trespassing sign have ANY power over someone intending to do harm to people or things???? I understand concern about litter, etc. That concern, unfortunately, is not limited to a single community, city, country, etc. It is a universal problem that we each have to take individual responsibility for. Once again, a sign will not stop someone from throwing trash on the ground if they have no qualms about doing so.

Just wanted to get some feedback.

i think the no trespassing sign is supposed to deter those who know better than to be where they aren't supposed to be (ie: RED residents at the Cobblestone splashpad, for example). But clearly, taggers don't care about no trespassing signs.
But even the best intentioned 3 year old and their parent (I'm not pointing fingers, just using it as an example) needs to respect a no trespassing sign. If you don't belong there, don't go.

If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

True enough. Sad but true. I don't like this society sometimes.
