Did any else know that Barros has a time limit for how long one can be in the dining area? A friend of mine decided to have a birthday party their this week. They were told that it would not be an issue. They had 30 people. 2 days beforehand they were told that the establishment could not save tables. The party involved did save tables with no issues. 45 minutes into the children's party they were asked to leave because other people wanted to sit at the tables that these paying customers were occupying. What the heck? It either is 'first come first serve' or it is not. The party that was there paid a lot of money on food and deserves to be treat like anyone else. The group was not 'camping' Personally, I was embarassed by Barros pizza. I don't think I will be back for a while.

Evidently you bought enough food/drink for 45min worth of tables. They have to 'turn' tables to make MONEY. I think they did the right thing. Next time go to Chuck-E-Cheese.

You may be right. Well, that is why I spent $s on my son's party in Mesa and not in Maricopa.

I think that is lame, they should have told you prior to them doing something like that if that was the case and I am sure plans would have been changed to another location. I do agree with the company having to turn tables in order to make money and barros is definatly not a childrens resturant with games and birthday parties all the t ime, but at any note it should have been said prior to arrival. I guarentee if me and a buddie went into barros and bought a pizza and wings and sat down for an hour and a half there would be no problems with that, but I think the size of the group is what flipped their lid. I think any smaller establishment resturant would have ended up doing the same thing if they had customers waiting for tables, dont hold it against barros just look at the whole picture. They were in the wrong for doing it without warning but they are a business and the group was stopping the business from operating properly.

Every time I've ordered a pizza from Barros, with wings, they've always delivered within the timescale quoted and not made any mistake with the order. The prices are competitive and and the product is excellent. I've picked up an order there once, and it did not seem the place to take 30 people for a Birthday party..... in fact to do so where there is alcohol served seems pretty lame to me. There are plenty of places to hold a child's Birthday in the Valley which are more suited to do this, and there is less risk of coming into contact with adults who are drinking. To use this, because this place is local, seems like laziness on behalf of the parents responsible for "booking" this restaurant.... surely you could have made more effort to find a more conducive place to hold such a large party? Far from being a bad thing, if they are less than welcoming to ankle biters, then it has gone up in my estimation, not down... while parents who consider it suitable to hold a party there have lost credibility to me. I'll continue to give them my business.

Yes, there are other places to hold kids birthday parties. Circle K has soda,ice cream,pizza,popcorn and a big enough parking lot to set up a bouncy"thing". Maybe you should check into that for next year? I've never had problems with Barros'....

The fact is that they said they would accomadate this party 2 weeks prior and then backed off that 2 days beforehand. BTW, an update: The owners were presented with all of this and were very upset about the treatment the party recieved. They said that there was no reason for this. They were truly embarassed. They do support kids party's at all of their establishments.

Kids can only play so many times all the video games and keep themselves occupied before getting bored. I'm not saying what they did was right or wrong. Just that there might have been other's complaining. And since the group had already been there for 45 minutes and obviously done eating they thought it was the best solution to ask how much longer they were going to be there. So that they could keep the dining room moving. I know if it happened to me I would have been really ticked off but being outside the situation it's easier to see both sides of the story. Glad that they stepped up to the plate though!!! Way to go Barros.

If I walked in to Barro's to have dinner, and found the place full with a party of 30 for a "Kids Brithday Party".... Likely even if there were tables available I would turn around and walk out, and have dinner elsewhere....... I am not an "anit-kids" person, and actually have a really well behaved 5 year old, but when I go out to eat dinner I generally want a little quieter environment to enjoy.

I am channeling my "inner cougar".....

Same here AmyB1! There are plenty of greenbelts with covered picnic areas, heck even Pacana Park would have been a more suitable place for a birthday party. Hopefully Peter Piper Pizza will be here soon for those types of events.

I've had nothing but great experience(s) w/ Barros in Maricopa. Love the pizza, the fact that they offer coupons online, and have always had good service when ordering over the phone or at the counter. Barros will continue to get my business. Besides Barros, the only other pizza place I frequent is Pappa Murphy's take and bake up on Chandler Blvd & 44th St. Their pizza is AWESOME and the prices are very reasonable.
