Alert | | The little squaking ones that fly around everywhere, you know the ones that congregate on the telephone wires. I might just get the shop vac and extract them from the eaves(jk.) They may be damaging the home. I could only hope that they are not. When they dissapear I can build screens with little nails to keep the chirping ordurves out. Any ideas Mrs. Glow?

Alert | | Thank you for the info. Whether the birds eat bugs or not so does the farm cat that lurks around and my vote is the cat probablly eats more of the critters like scorpians. I can live with the bugs not the annoying chirping of the birds and knowing that their feces may one day affect our health.

Alert | Be glad you dont have grackles like I do. Each year I dispatch about 30 to 40 of these large black birds as they eat the quail eggs and babies as well as attacking the smaller birds. If you had these around your house you would not have to worry about smaller birds so much. | | Some people will do anything to get elected!

Alert | jj, that ain't such a dumb question! I've been out here in the wilderness for 25 years, and about all I know is that the quail hatch in late april and early May. As far as I know the rest of the birds are year round.! Good question! You have me wondering!

Alert | | How sad that you want to get rid of the birds, they are wonderful to listen to. They do not destroy homes. I love sitting out back and watching them. Why would you want to destroy God's creatures? So sorry that you feel that way.

Alert | | Wake up lady! The birds have eaten their way past the stucco and are lodged in the stryofoam. The constant chirping brings the farm cat out; waiting to pounce. My dogs start barking cause there is a cat outside trying to eat some breakfast, and that wakes up my sleeping kids. In turn this creates an early, usually, morning when Ive' just worked 12 to 15 the day before and now I have to hear the dogs barking, my grumpy kids wonderin' why they are up soo early, and now the dogs want breakfast. I thought I would be humane and proper and ask the approipriate way of exterminating the birds, besides sucking them up with the shop vac. You, lady, are sipping your roasted blend of morning java, listening to the sounds of mother nature awakening your senses. Can you see where I'm coming from now?

Alert | | And another thing...mind you; the odors caused by dead birds in the wall from not being able to fly, or leave the nest is much worse than the alternative.

Alert | | Sorry, didn't mean to "ruffle your feathers", also don't do fancy coffees either. My cat stays in the house and my dog mingles amoungst the birdies so we don't have that problem plus I could probably sleep thru a ten piece band. I moved here to get out of the city noises but I didn't shoot people because of noise. Hope you solve your problems and that you can get some sleep so your not so grumpy and that the bluebird of happiness doesn't land on your roof so the cat chases it and the dogs don't bark at it and the kids can sleep in. I see where your coming from, be happy.
