Alert | That darn HOA has some kohona's to charge us more money to have a Mother's Day Breakfast in a weed strewn dilapadated brown grass run down park!! Five dollars or not, maybe at one point they should not spit in our face and laugh about the ridiculous situation Tortosa is in!! Everything they do, which is very little, is a debacle!! All I can do is shake my head in disgust and hand over $85 a month for nothing, that is a half tank of gas! Defeated we are!

Alert | Thanks Karen. I'm so used to typing that from a different board I forget I have to spell the WHOLE word out here. I usually end up typing the DH and then realizing no one knows what I am talking about. I do the same thing with DS, DD, and a few others!
Dh = dear husband Ds = dear son DD = dear daughter

Alert | I'm not going because i'd rather have lunch inside my air conditioned house looking out on my backyard with no weeds and green grass.
Anyone else just get the email saying that if there isn't a big enough response that it'll be cancelled? And that they're moving their office... to the Business Barn. Great. So I bet they'll be here and looking around citing infractions even less than they were before! *sigh*

Alert | UHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Never saw the e-mail. Cancelling the breakfast isn't necessarily a bad thing. THE BUSINESS BARN!?! How are they on-site if they aren't in the community?

Alert | or not. It wont post a new topic. I push submit and it just refreshes the page and brings me up a blank text box. Lovely.
Here's what I was trying to start a new topic on:
Tortosa Homeowners,
Below is the letter that is going out in the mail to all homeowners in Tortosa for formal notification of the relocation of the Management Office, and a reminder of the Mothers Day event. Not only will the relocation reduce expenses, but will remain convenient. Stop by the new location and say hello!
In the event we do not have enough interest and response for the Mothers Day Brunch, be advised the event will be cancelled. If you are interested and simply have not yet purchased tickets, please consider doing so as we have to have a count for the caterer.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Re: Relocation of the Homeowners Association Management Office
Your Homeowners Association Management Office is Relocating!
In an effort to reduce the cost of the Association Management Office and to continue to serve our community within Maricopa, the Management Office will be relocating to The Maricopa Business Barn.
The City of Maricopa is requesting that we acquire a TUP (temporary use permit) from the City. As you probably know, we currently run the Association office out of the Omega Construction trailer. Since we are a “Public Service Office” The City of Maricopa is requiring that we provide handicap access, install an interior sprinkler system, and add an additional point of access (another entry, not to be shared with the Fire Department) to the construction trailer. Even though the City of Maricopa has been very helpful in allowing us time to bring the construction trailer into compliance, the cost to the Association to meet these standards well exceeded $15,000.00. After extensive research it was decided to avoid this cost by relocating the Association office. By relocating the office we can save the Association these additional expenses. In addition, the monthly rental expenses at the new location will be more cost effective than the expenses of staying in the existing office.
The number one priority for the Tortosa team was to keep the Management office within close proximity to our residents and to ensure that we were was close enough to continue weekly inspections of the community and continue to respond immediately to a homeowner request.
The new office location will be conveniently located at the Maricopa Business Barn, 19428 N John Wayne Parkway, Suite D1. The office hours will remain the same, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Community activities will continue to be held on Tortosa Property.
The move to the new location will be completed by May 1st, 2008. Communications to the Tortosa Management team will remain the same. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Alert | | I will not be attending the Mother's Day Brunch, either. It is a waste of HOA resources and energy. | | ~Don't make someone a priority if they only make you an option...~

Alert | | I for one am sorry that no one wants to come I thought it would be a nice way to see some other familes. The HOA girls already did the planing so to back out now seems a waste of thier time ie our money. I just feel sorry for our community if we can't see past the fact that we are all pissed at the HOA and have some fun. We are trying to change the fee but in the mean time can't we still be nice to our comunity and act like one

Alert | | i wouldnt mind seeing it cancelled..we have enough people living here that if we wanted to put on a community event we could more then likely do it ourselves....and them moving further from our community to lower expenses should reflect in what we pay each month...even though i doubt it will ever go down | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006
