I understand all of the problems the hoa has faced, parvo, lack of funds but why is maricopa meadows not reseeding if we are watering the landscape, I've walked the whole neighborhood and see the sprinkler systems running but more than 1/2 of the grass is dead, we are either watering dirt and wasting money or should spend the money to re-seed, 1 or the other, not the status quo of watering dead grass, it looks awful compared to alterra, we are watering the weeds and no matter how much they grow it will not look right, there are entire patches of deadgrass or just dirt everywhere, not a good use of my hoa dues, its rather dumb

Hello Everyone in MM,

We at H&N wanted to let everyone know what is going on with the grass in the community.  As you all know, Maricopa Meadows did not overseed during the winter months.  As the season has started, we have faced a few challenges with the grass in the community.  For the last couple of months, an electrical contractor had been installing lights throughout the community.  the lights required major trenching and groundwork that broke many main sprinkler lines and forced the shut down of the complete irrigation system.

We have been working tediously to clean out all of the fouled and mud filled sprinkler heads throughout the 54 acres of irrigaton system.  We are getting closer to the system being close to 100%.  It takes quite a bit of manpower to handle this.

So, now about watering the "dirt" we have just recently got the system running and are now able to get the areas to start greening up.  Bermuda grass that is throughout the community is not a grass that can be killed.  It will regenerate itself.  It is basically a weed that spreads.  We know that it looks bad and fortunately we now have the ability to get working on making it to make it look great.  We are staring an aeration process, gypsum treatment as well as a fetilization that will make the grass multiply at far greater rate.  You should already notice that some ares that we first worked on are starting to come around.  We are sure that with the effort and treatments that we are doing that the turf should look great in a matter of a couple of weeks or so.  Thats not to say that there will not be problem areas that will take longer to regenerate.  Rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to get the community looking great.  All of our focus is on the grass at Maricopa Meadows right now.

Also, if you didn't know.  With having three schools throughout the neighborhood.  We have watched many students when either coming to school or leaving school vandalizize or destroy the sprinkler heads.  We have had to replace on average 20 to 30 per week due to vandalism.  We would appreciate anyones help to get people to stop this behavior.  While we try to do what we can to keep your costs down, this vandalism is a complete waste of community money.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email: hn_tim@cox.net or call our office at 480-855-5296.  We are located in Maricopa and are only a couple of miles away.  And as always come to the HOA meetings.  We are always there and are always willing to answer any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

H&N Landscape

Alan F,

"All of our focus is on the grass at Maricopa Meadows right now." is about our irrigation techs.  Our landscape cleanup crews are focusing on the 66 homes in Senita.  Other crews are doing 18 new home installations this week and our other maintenance crews are out taking care of the other HOA's that we handle.  Oh and I almost forgot about the new people hired to man the new retail nursery (thanks for letting me get a plug in... Ha Ha Ha...) that is to open this weekend.  We have more than a couple of employees.  Different people focus on different things.  This post was written to the residents of Maricopa Meadows so that they are in the know about their community.  While noone ever emails personally questions or possible concerns, it sure seems simple for people to go on this forum and try to make something out of nothing. Again, hn_tim@cox.net is my personal email if you would like to contact me to discuss anything.  Or call the office and ask for me anytime.  If I'm not there I will gladly call you back.

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,
Please have one of your irrigation technicians increase the flow from that sphincter check valve of yours. It is obviously too tight and has you all backed up man!!! If I had wanted to make something over nothing....oh never mind Just loosen the valve a touch.

Thanks,

Alan

Thanks Tim for the info...........We appreciate your hard work and dedication in getting Maricopa Meadows looking great again.

Also please ignore Alan F comments. All his talk about sphincters and being backed up might be his way of crying out for help. I've heard that in retirement homes they regularly serve All Bran and highly recommend yearly visits to the proctologist.

I will say that I see them out there every day working on the grass or sprinklers or whatever...every single day. I hadn't read this, but already knew that they were on it and it will start looking better soon! It seems like a really great company!
