Thank goodness! I was afraid I'd never find you. I'm still in. July 21st at Demonica's? Do we have a time, directions on getting there? Can we pm on this new website? I haven't found a way to do it.

Ok, I am an idiot with this new account.
I blew on my original screen name. Argh. I cannot spell. I went to change my screen name, and managed to create a new profile.
Anywho, I am TheShermanator!
July 21st is okay for me, but I have to go to Secondhand Pages Bookstore from 10:30-12 for their story time. Sherman (hence the name) is a therapy dog, and kids read to him after their story time.
Could we possible reschedule for the 28th?
Pllllllleeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssseeeeeeeeeeeee?

Dang! I'd love to do this, but unfortunately hubby works on Saturdays! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/sad.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Sad' align='absmiddle'>

Perhaps I could just host one one time, or a few....<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Yay! I am sooooooo excited!
I am currently reorganizing my knitting room- (yes - I have a room with a TV, my Tivo, futon, and tons of yarn,) so I can bring stuff to the craft swap on the 14th. Then, I'll have all my stuff organized for the new knit/crochet group!

Whoohoo!

The morning is much better for me too. How often will the knitting group get together? Weekly, byweekly, monthly? What is the date for sure. Since the change over, all strings have gone by-by. What time is the Craft swap on the 14th.

I'm not sure about the craft swap time - I'm gonna start a new thread to find 'The Nag' who started the whole thing.

You can access the old threads by going to www.85239forum.com. I keep going back and forth.

I have a craft room, too, which doubles as a guest room. I've been spending lots and lots of time in it lately!

I guess we can meet as much as we want, but we'll probably get more turnout if we do it monthly. I wouldn't mind doing it more often, though.

Michael's is having a HUGE sale right now. Their clearance yarn is 50% off the clearance price. I just got 10 skeins of wool yarn for a $1 each because 'felting' is the new project I want to try. I also got about 20 other skeins of yarn for dirt cheap and crochet thread in different colors for accessories and stuff. They are remodeling the store so it's only the Ray Rd. store.

I did finally finish the bunny lovey but it isn't perfect. I want to make a blanket and matching lovey for my sister, though, so I think that's what I'm bringing for my first project so I can ask questions.

Oh, oh oooh!
Felting is my new project too!
I have a new book on it, and printed some patterns from the internet!
I guess I will be stopping at Michaels on the way home from work tomorrow!

hi! finally got on here, guess i needed a new name to do it though! anyhoo...personally, i'd like to try to do this as a weekly thing. i have never knitted before in my life and i know i am going to need as much help and support as possible. sherman is more than welcome to come along with you after the second hand pages thingy, if you'd like to bring him. my dog loves having someone to play with, and she would probably be less of a PITA to the rest of us that way!!! i was thinking maybe 10:00 or 11:00 on saturday morning. and as far as i'm concerned, let's do it on the 21st and the 28th! my house is always available, but for those who have to be home with kids, let's do it at their houses sometimes if that works for them. i just really want to get this going. i would love to be able to knit for the baby by the time he gets here and needs warm stuff! i'm in old maricopa, behind the dairy queen, i will be happy to post the address here as we get closer. since we can't PM yet, if anyone wants to contact me, mbjones29@yahoo.com. i'm also happy to give out my phone number, but mayben it's not such a good idea to post it here for all and sundry to see!

By the way, I'm POOHBEAR. What is felting? I've never heard of it. 10:00 or 11:00 will be great. I've been knitting a long time, making blankets and afghans, but have problems reading patterns. So I'm looking for help too. This is going to be FUN!!!!!

Felting is basically done by shrinking wool. You knit a really big item, and shrink it down, and it looks like felt.

demonica - Sherman would love to come, but he's VERY lazy - he'll most likely sleep the whole time. He may bark, and play bow a little, but he's not a rough-houser.
Look at that face in my avatar. That's the picture of excitement.

It almost looks like the craft swap *** might*** be a bust, so I will bring supplies I do not use, anymore.

Demonica, I'm willing to do it both days, too. I'm really looking forward to getting out and away for a little while to work on projects that I love!

Sherm, did you get to Michaels? The whole dang store is on sale!

I"m looking forward to seeing how felting turns out. That's a new one for me.

Getting together and working on projects that I haven't finished will be great.

Demonica, just let me know where and the time for sure. I'll be there.
