did anyone else notice they made the middle lane a right turn only? some people obviously haven't noticed it because i got stuck behind someone waiting to turn left today!

I noticed, but had to look hard to see what the "traffic control change" even was! They still haven't completely erased the left turn arrow off of the street! :-)

i noticed that too! but if you look hard enough there is a sign on the light that states right turn only! i totaly think they could have done a better job to make it more noticeable!

While it will help keep traffic moving, tbh that intersection sucks for making a turn on red as the visability is about as bad as it can get... I still cautiously pull out, but if someone in the left lane is doing the same thing it's near impossible to make that turn.

I don't know how the people that fly up to it, don't stop and just make the turn do it. Oh wait, yes I do, they just pull out not caring if they're cutting someone off. If I come to a stop in the right spot, it's possible to see all the way across the bridge and a bit down the hill, so it's not bad, unless there is someone in that left most right turn lane.

Making both lanes right turn only is one of the best things I have seen ADOT do. Now if only they would repave both the off and on ramps to the 10.

I LOVE this turn lane!  You do not have to stop!  You slow, look, keep going, and MERGE!  It is great!  This is the travel I take.  I NEVER stay on the 10 and exit Queen Creek.  I hate the fact that the far left lane ends, and traffic on all 3 and now 2 lanes, hits their brakes.  Everyone seems to be fighting for a lane, so they can get off at QC.  I left that game years ago.

One thing you have to be alert to when using the Wild Horse Pass Exit, is that car in front of you might be a NEWBEE and probably does not know that you can roll on through!

But, back to the POSITIVES: Also, I get to sit at the Wild Horse Pass Stop Sign at the QC Road entrance and wait for the speeding traffic that took the exit at QC.

I know that by me taking this path, I AM NOT GOING TO PULL OUT IN FRONT OF YOU!

However, when you take the QC exit, (and you are rounding that deadly spot in the road by the Wild Horse Pass stop sign ) how do you know that I am not going to pull out in front of you, while you are traveling at 65+ mph? OR turn left in front of you from the Northbound lane to take the shortcut to the casino or fire department?  You commuters that like that QC exit off the 10 I just don't get.  You have to approach that deadly curve at that stop sign area at 65 and sometimes 75 and worry about the traffic turning towards Maricopa and also the traffic that has left Maricopa and is going to the Casino at that deadly turn.

SO alanf, this is Granny's take on the Wild Horse Pass Exit!  I LOVE IT!!

I guess we just assume idiots won't pull out in front of us. If you do, you get t-boned and most likely die. Sorry, that would be your fault. I don't go 65 past that Maricopa Rd. stop sign...I go 80, so I hope you're watching where you're going. If you decide to pull out in front of me, YOU are at fault. People coming from that road often are the cause of accidents; that is why the majority of people who don't like taking their chances take the QC exit.

It seems ADOT finally did something pro-active. Could it be? Why the hell can't we get a 2nd left hand turn lane on JWP onto Smith Enke? The damn lane is already there! All you fools have to do is paint it, put a sign up, and turn on the signal! Why is this so $%$^$%^@@ hard to get done? Why do you have to have a feasibility study done first, anyone who's ever been at this intersection knows it should of been done years ago.  How stupid is this.

JUST GET IT DONE.

They are who we thought they were!

Jason: I do stop at the QC exit of course, but viability still sucks with my car as I can't even begin to see over the concrete barrier.

As for the Maricopa Rd. turn @ Wild Horse Pass, it should be blocked off, turn lane destroyed, and there won't be any more T-Bones. People turning there blame on-coming traffic because their speeding ect... point is it doesn't matter if they're doing 30 or 130, it's the responsibility of the person entering an on-coming free lane to ensure it's safe, not rely that they will stop to let you through. I can't even count the number of times I've seen other people almost get T-boned there, let alone it nearly happing to myself on several occasions. It's a semi-blind intersection with that embankment to start with for people entering from Maricopa Rd onto 347. And if people think it's safer to use WHP than I-10 with the crappy lane merger, you need a reality check. At least with the merger, people are traveling in the same direction.

PKMet: 100% with you on the double turn lane needed @ smith-enke. Especially as the space is already there :/

Yes, because it doesn't matter if I'm going 55, 65 0r 80...if you pull in front of me you will get hit. Either way, it's gonna hurt, and I'm not gonna go 15 mph just in case someone else decides they want to cut me off. I might get a ticket for speeding, but the other person probably won't be so lucky. That's why I don't take WHP exit...

You might want to get your vision checked Granny, the left lane doesn't end.

I think Granny was refering to the HOV lane that ends just before the stack. At least I sure hope that is what she meant!.....lol!!!!

I get a kick out of watching people scramble to merge into the second lane not realizing that it is the lane that disappears!!!!

What they really need to do is shut down one of the lanes from QC and I10 and have it restart after Maricopa rd and use it as a lane that allows cars to begin travel onto 347 safely Or install a light there and if someone is aproaching greater that the posted speed it will automaticly turn red to slow them down.

That's even worse! When the HOV lane ends, there are more than 2 lanes left.
