Alert | My 4-year-old wants to go to school SO BAD. She asks me a couple times a week if she's big enough yet to go to school. She just turned 4 in March so she has to wait another year for kindergarten. I have her on the WAITING LIST at Santa Rosa for their preschool program. When I talked to the lady that put my daughter on the list she had mentioned they might be adding preschool classes there, and possibly at more schools. I'm just wondering if anyone else on this LIST has heard anything or has any more info on the program regarding adding more classes? I thought I might check here before I call the school again.... Have a super day!

Alert | | It might be more expensive, but have you looked into Graysmark or LittleU? I have personal experience with Graysmark and have been very happy for the last couple years.

Alert | my daughter is also on the list. but they told me it could happen or not. she said they seem to change their minds often and depending on staff vs interest, etc. she also told me i could get a call a week before school or up to two weeks after school starts. basically, it's just a waiting game. my daughter is a mid september birthday and i want to put her in kindergarden the year after this school year. but b/c she's after the sept 1st deadline, she wouldn't get in. the lady i spoke with said it also depends on how many kids they have entering kinder and maybe they'll push the deadline birthday back to dec 31st. but she also said it's been different every year she's been in maricopa. so, basically that's the info i have, which is pretty much no info. i'd hate to have to pay for 2 years of preschool b/c my daughter missed the cutoff date for kinder by less than two weeks! | | this time i want a smart president!

Alert | | Have you look into legacy Montessori school on Garvey. We put our 4 yr old in there last year and were very please. She know's all the vowels and the sounds that are related to them. They also exploits there strenths and weakness with a highly interactive learning plan. We were very please.

Alert | My son went to Little U and so does my 3 yr old daughter. The waits are just too long for us and they loved Little U. I did call Tutor time and they are VERY EXPENSIVE!!! They have to go 5 days a week either part day or full day and at Little U my daughter will go 3 days. There is als Graysmark as someone mentions and some home preschools too. Just look around or if you don't mind the drive there are many many to choose from in the east valley area.

I just spoke with Tutor Time about a week ago and they had not even set their prices for out here in Maricopa yet, so I am curious how you know they are "VERY EXPENSIVE", unless you are talking about another Tutor Time?

Tutor time is a chain throughout the valley & other states-all the same prices.

This is not a true statement, I know from comparing a couple of them previously. The one in Ahwatukee is more expensive than the one in Gilbert for the same amount of care. Did they tell you how much it would cost for your child to go full or part time?

Alert | | The tutor time out here will have different prices than those in town. In fact the hours are going to be different just to accommodate the residents here in the copa. I spoke with one of the employees at the new tutor time, and in fact the hours of operation for the the copa will be from 5 in the morning to 7 at night.

Alert | | i spoke w/a lady from tutor time in chandler. she said even though the prices are different for almost all of the locations, she told me that it's not going to be THAT much different. she said maybe $100 either way depending on what they decide. but, it is very expensive! she quoted me something like $900 and some change for full time and about $700+ for part time. that's a month! too rich for my blood! | | this time i want a smart president!

Alert | | I agree with you mw. i had both my kids at Tutor time in NY. i was spending somewhere in the area of 1200 mnth with a discount cause the owner is a friend. expensive yes but my older one loved being there. she started at around 1 and a half and was there till 3yrs old. it taught her alot about making friends but other than that way to much money

Alert | | i probably would be more opt to have my daughter in preschool there if i was also using it as a daycare as well. i could maybe see spending that kind of $ if i was getting a two for one kinda deal. but, being a stay at home mom, and sending my child to preschool for that much $ just isn't do-able. but from the pictures, it looks pretty darn cool! | | this time i want a smart president!

Alert | yeah they may be cheaper than say those in another area but the prices aren't that much different from any specific tutor time. They have to go 5 days a week and it can be either PT or FT. My kids went to kindercare and its basically how kindercare runs with prices. In Chandler we payed at Kindercare less than Gilbert but honestly it was like a 20 dollar a day difference not like a huge amount.
The lady I spoke to about tutor time so all the prices are about the same some a little lower and some higher so either way you slice it they are EXPENSIVE! AT least at kindercare they could go just 1 day a week. I do think its great about their hours though.

Alert | | I'm so glad to hear that Legacy Montessori is so great as I just signed my child up to go there. We went to Little U for a while but was not real happy there, we thought they needed to be more open to parent suggestions and more respectful of the families. As for Tutor Time, I was told the "estimated" prices would be between $160 and $200 a week depending on FT or PT and I was not told they had to attent 5 days a week .... I even mentioned possibly needing only 2 or 3 days a week and was not told about that .... I could be wrong but we wouldn't know anything for sure until the open house anyway.

Alert | | NAHS79, in your experience, the 5 day a week schedule at Legacy Montessory School (LMS) is not too much for the little ones? It was the only hesitation I had ..... but we signed our child up and we're very excited about it. Would love your feedback though. Thanks!!!

Alert | | so what are the public school options for 4yr. olds? I was thinking Pre-K in public school but after searching the sites (that aren't navigation friendly) I didn't see much options.

Alert | what are the prices for the montessori schools out here for the 4 year old program? does anyone have phone #'s i can get? do they have a 3 year old program? dfl....the only public school pre-k program is the one that has the waiting list as of right now (so i understood). the lady i spoke to said they may have it and they may not for this coming year. i won't know until a week before or up until two weeks after school starts whether my daughter has a spot or not. | | this time i want a smart president!
