If you were to vote today for 3 councilmen and 1 mayor, who would they be?

If any candidate gets 51% of the votes they will automatically have a spot on the council. The general election is in May, I believe. I can't remember.

So drummer72, have you anything constructive to add to this discussion? You failed to answer the question. Care to tell us who you would support - and maybe why you feel that way?

I thought my comment was constructive. Please note, that I'm the black sheep/slower sybling of 85239.com.

I don't know who I'm voting for and I'm not sure if I will.

If I were a resident of the City, this is how I would vote:

Carl Diedrich is someone who stands on principal. I may not always agree with everything he says, but at least I know why he's saying it and that he is motivated by doing what's right.

Marquisha Griffin has distinguished herself in the community. She has shown a genuine interest and I believe would bring a much-needed fresh perspective to how things are done.

Marvin Brown brings experience to the table. He also brings a great deal of refinement and elegance, things that are really in short supply on today's Council.

Dide anyone else notice in the 85239.com magazine, that Diedrich refused to offer some last words? I thought it was very insightful, reading all the other comments. Too bad for him...

Well, him not giving any last comments made me not want to vote for him.
He already got the publicity, by letting them print a picture of him.

It's not a matter of him letting them print a picture - he's a candidate and they don't need his permission. He has a grievance with 85239.com and asked not to be included. For Carl, it's a matter of principal. I don't have to agree with his decision in order to respect him for it.

You may have missed his letter to the editor in the Monitor a couple of weeks ago.

Carl Diedrich is definately someone who will stand on principal, will ask the good and tough questions, and will not keep people in the dark. He wants to do things the right way.

Marquisha Griffin is supportive of this community, is active in it and wants to do things the right way.

Marvin Brown has experience is knowledgable, and wants to do things the right way.

The mayorial race will be interesting, I am less impressed with Mr. Smith, based on his comments of late, so I am not sure he will lead us in the right direction. Mr. Godsey may just be my write in.

Well,

here's two of my votes. Carl Diedrich on the right of the people and Marty Hermonson on the left. I have spoke to each of these candidates and find that they would help move Maricopa forward.

The Third vote is up in the air.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.
