I never called to open an account at GLobal Water and I had not received any letters or bills their since I bought my house. And of course there is no water in my house. However, this week I recevied 4 bills from them with total amount around 3000 dollars. I called them and asked why? one of customer services lady said Maricopa city required that owner must have to open water account with 60$ minimum even the owner not use water or not live in their. Did any one heard about this rule?

I do know that GW is now charging a fee whether water is used or not, but I believe it is a new thing.

OMG the same thing happened to us,3 months in our house and then one day NO water!!!! What the hell kinda way is this to run a business. We too had thought when we bought our home that the mortgage company would switch it into our name....we were wrong. But why the hell can't people pick up the phone and call?????
Sorry you had to deal with this too.

No it was our fault, what I am saying is can anyone at GW pick up the phone and call before you just shut off the water??? We are new to AZ and where we came from it would warrant a call to let the customer know what the hell is going on. I have been in the customer service business for 40 years and I know this is not the way to do business! Come on for this not to be a one time incident you would think you would change your policy and at least give the customer a call.
Happy New Year!

Hmmmm seems to me one should be conducting business instead of being online to answer peoples comments! How about making phone calls??

People who have plenty of time to be on the forum, in the middle of the day, should have the time to call and set up their accounts for WATER, gas, cable...........

Its all about proper time management.

Nice comment, you just let everyone see what kind of business you run, or try to run.

I take care of my business, honey.

I even called Global Water to set up an account, when I moved in. I didn't expect someone else to do it for me.

Just because your "ill", doesn't mean you should abdicate all personal responsibility.

We requested to have the water turned off in the rental that we own since no one is currently renting it and they continue to charge us every month for the minimum $60 for water and sewer. We were po'd!!! According to the Arizona Corporation Commission, they aren't allowed to do that. Report any problems with Santa Cruz to the ACC!!!!!! http://www.cc.state.az.us/

I received two bill this week, one for 23 days usage and another for 11 days. The 11 day bill was outrageous!
Going to make a trip to Global tomorrow and ask for a REAL explanation. Seems they are getting away with robbery.I'd rather be held up at gunpoint.

luceee, did you by chance get a credible explanation from Global?
I got slammed with the same thing myself, I am suspending the auto payment process until I get a credible explanation from them.

I have lived homes in communities from Florida to California and EVERYWHERE I have always had to open an account with the water service provider and pay a deposit.  The only exception was when I rented an apartment, and the rent included water.

On anothe note.  YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH GLOBAL WATER.  Watch your bills.  My husband and I are retired...only two of us living in our home.  We have gotten humongous bills from Global (one was for  85,000 gallons for a 29 day period),  After thorough checks to rule out leaks, malfunctions, etc, Global adjusted our bill but insisted that our meter is read by SATELLITE and it doesn't make mi stakes.  DUH!  We would have had to show three times a day, wash t3n load of clothes daily and left the drip system on for 10 hours a day to have used 85,000 gallons.
