Alert | And please don't get your feathers all ruffled because I am asking. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse. I am not at all a political person, but I am curious and have to ask this... In the Communicator (which is as close to the National Inquirer as I have ever seen) there is an article written by E M Murray about the park and COH deal. What I wanted to know is if the city was actually offered the land in February of 2007 for $58000 per acre. Is this true, and where would someone have gotten that information? I haven't asked or commented on this before, and don't intend to make this an entire conversation, but I was curious. I read most of what was written on here about the deal and I am all for bettering the city, but this caught my eye. Is it true? | | Yes, that's really my name

Alert | The Communicator is the National Inquirer. That article was so full of errors. btw, was it an article or an editorial? And why does a newspaper allow initials? Are they too ashamed to use their fulll name? Did you notice that the article used quotes from 85239.com forum? Are we the new authority on everything to be quoted as fact?
Anyway, El Dorado Holdings has never offered that land to the city. If you doubt that, then call EDH and they will tell you same.
The article was referring to land over by the cows on Casa Grande Highway. A deal that didn't work out for the city last year.

Is that the article you're talking about, Cyndi? I am surprised that you would insult the National Enquirer's journalistic integrity by comparing them to the Communicator, at least based upon this article. I just finished reading it. At first I thought it was a letter to the editor. If it were, that would account for all of the unfounded accusations, innuendos, insinuations, and unfounded rumors that perpetuate themselves throughout the article. To my surprise, the article was written by a copy editor for the paper.
For example, insinuating that the people who received a variety of civic awards did so because of their membership in the church is irresponsible journalism. The outright accusation that the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce is guilty of "bias and collusion" with the Community of Hope Church to ensure civic recognition is exclusively for church members is unfair to the Chamber, the award recipients, the community, and the readers of the Communicator. It also totally discredits the entire article.
However, I haven't answered your question about the city being offered the 15-acre parcel for $58,000 per acre in February 2007. I don't know, but I am doing the research to find out. I will let you know as soon as I do. If the city was, in fact, offered this property and didn't take it then there is a legitimate question to be answered. | | Stupid should hurt!

Alert | Contact El Dorado Holdings. I go to all of the city council meetings and it is my understanding from council meetings that that land was to be sold only to a religious group. I am not a member of COH, but I don't think that COH has done anything wrong here. I feel badly for the bad press they have gotten lately. The city did want to buy the land, Marty talked about this 2 city council meetings ago, but said EDH would not sell to the city. I really don't believe in this situation there is any big story. I think it is a great win-win, though for everyone.
Once again we have learned in Maricopa.....Don't believe anything you read :o) Instead of buyer beware it's reader beware in this city. LOL | | Changing lives one diaper at a time since 1993. Trecia

Alert | | DD Very interesting article and information is very much needed to be exposed to bring a clearer picture concerning viable questions. I question COH and it's direction they seem to be going in. I agreed to a confidentiality status for a month or so. I am getting concerned since the land deal has not been completed. I may have to violate the agreement and go from there to bringing out questions concerning this deal. 58,000 / 70,000 stay withit Cindy Witzak......

Several people will be glad to discuss it with you. In the meantime, read Matthew 7:12. You will see that you quoted it almost word for word.
